Honestly, when I first heard the name Acropolis Flat, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, there are so many places in Athens that throw “Acropolis” into their name just because they’re vaguely in the same neighborhood. But you know what? This 4-star spot actually delivers on that promise in ways that surprised me.

The thing that hits you right away is how quiet it gets at night, which – if you’ve spent any time in central Athens – you’ll know is practically a miracle. I’m talking about that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to all the major sites without dealing with the chaos of Monastiraki at 2 AM when the bars let out. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which I really appreciated. There’s something about the way the morning light filters through the windows that makes you want to linger over coffee instead of rushing out to tackle your sightseeing list.

What really sets this place apart though is the attention to those little details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days, not just passing through. The kitchen setup is properly thought out – I mean, you can actually cook a real meal if you want to, not just heat up instant noodles. And honestly, after paying Athens restaurant prices for a week, you’ll appreciate having that option. The neighborhood around here has this authentic residential feel where you’ll see locals doing their daily shopping, kids walking to school, that sort of thing. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the Acropolis entrance (the one most tourists don’t know about), and you’ll pass this little bakery that opens ridiculously early and makes these incredible cheese pies that become dangerously addictive. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not flashy or trying too hard, but everything just works the way it should. Check-in was smooth, the place was spotless, and there’s decent air conditioning, which matters more than you might think during those sweltering July afternoons. I actually found myself looking forward to coming back each evening instead of dreading another night in a cramped hotel room, and for me, that’s really the test of whether a place gets it right.

  The location is perfect to see downtown Athens by foot right next to the Akropolis Museum and the entrance to the southern slopes of the Akropolis. There is a grocery store close by and cafés/ restaurants. Make sure to check out the roof top terrace.

  The apartment was very quiet, and faces the back side of the building. The back is very green and we woke to the sound of song birds. The place was spotless, and very comfortable. We wished we stayed here our entire time! There was even a washer/dryer in a kitchen cabinet that we didn’t realize.

  Very nicely decorated, comfortable and well equipped apartment, it’s all brand new and it has all you need with a great shower, well equipped kitchen, big TV, lift, etc. It’s on first floor and has a little balcony overlooking orange trees. Location is great – next to Acropolis metro station with many restaurant and shops nearby
  
  What could be improved: We had a really nice stay, but just to flag that one of the bedrooms has a wall made of glass and the curtains could be improved to reduce the light in the morning. The view over the acropoli is on the roof of the overall building so it’s a shared area.

  Location was really central, just few minutes walk to Acropolis Museum and other main attractions, plenty of food choices along the street, and right in front of the Metro exit.
  
  What could be improved: The lift is a little small for luggages and stroller. Rooftop has a great view of the Acropolis but it is only a service roof with low railing, not ideal for staying to enjoy the view.

  the location was right in the middle of where everything seemed to be happening, right next to the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum. there were many eating places and shops around the property, not the best ones we experienced, but they were very convenient. we found that walking to tourist sights and using the metro station opposite to be simple. It appears that this property had only recently been renovated in a tasteful style. the beds were comfortable and the appliances worked well.

  What could be improved: Directions to the exact apartment with the name of the apartment. Example would be : take the lift to the first floor, turn right out of the elevator and it is apartment number five, or the name of the apartment.
