Acropolis Hill Apartment Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Acropolis Hill Apartment, I was expecting some cramped studio with a distant view of ancient ruins if you squinted from the fire escape. Boy, was I wrong. This place actually lives up to its name, and with a 9.0 rating, there’s clearly something special going on here.

What struck me right away was how this 4-star property manages to feel both upscale and genuinely homey at the same time. You know what I mean? It’s not trying too hard with marble everything and gold fixtures – instead, it’s got this warm, lived-in elegance that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually relax. The apartments themselves are thoughtfully laid out (thank god, because I’ve stayed in some European “apartments” that were basically hotel rooms with a hot plate shoved in the corner). Here, you’ve got proper living spaces that breathe, and honestly, the attention to detail is what separates this from your typical tourist accommodation.

The hill location – which sounds intimidating if you’re hauling luggage – actually works in your favor once you’re settled. Yeah, there’s a bit of a walk involved, but it means you’re elevated above the street noise and tourist crowds. I mean, during peak season in Athens, that’s worth its weight in gold. The mornings are particularly lovely; you can hear the city waking up below without being in the thick of it. And let’s talk about that rating for a second – 9.0 doesn’t happen by accident. The management clearly sweats the small stuff, from check-in (smooth, no weird key card drama) to housekeeping (they actually know how to fold towels properly, imagine that). I noticed they’ve got solid WiFi throughout – not that spotty connection that works great in the lobby but dies the moment you close your apartment door. The kind of practical touches that matter when you’re trying to plan your day or video call home.

What really sold me, though, was the genuine local feel of the neighborhood. You’re not stuck in some sterile hotel district where every restaurant has menus in twelve languages and charges tourist prices. This area has actual character – small tavernas where the owner’s grandmother might be in the kitchen, little shops that close for siesta, the whole authentic Greek experience without the theme park vibe. Sure, it means you might need to brush up on some basic Greek phrases (or master the art of enthusiastic pointing), but that’s part of the charm, isn’t it?

We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is large and well equipped with everything you could need. Everything clean and nice.
It is close to the Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis entrances. It is located in very nice and calm area, still, near to all the attractions. We had a great time.
Michael is a lovely and gentle host, we really loved him. And we sure, will be back to his apartment.
Thank you so much for everything, Michael.

Location near acropolis, quiet area (but still some occasional city noises), nice host, snacks for guests, AC was great, cool refrigerator (we made ice cubes a couple of times a day).

  • Daniel from Australia (9/10)

The most amazing location – we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, there was a mini market just around the corner, and a fabulous restaurant just down the road. We comfortably fitted our family of 5 (with 3 teens) and had a great stay. Thank you for the cold water and sweet treats – they were much appreciated, especially after arriving late at night. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

  • Vanessa from Canada (9/10)

Spent 2 days at this property near the Acropolis from July 28 to July 30.
Owners were very pleasant and helpful. They met us prior to check-in time and allowed us to store our luggage.
Michael and his wife were easy to reach and very responsive to any of our questions.
All our expectations were met and the complimentary food basket was a very nice gesture on the part of the owners.
    Highly recommend.

Great accommodation right next to Acropolis. I have been to Athens before and I really liked this area back then so I chose it for this trip and I would recommend to stay here to everyone, it's a safe quarter with good public transport, shops, many attractions nearby etc.. And the accommodation itself was fantastic, the apartment was incredibly equipped with so many practical things, there were even croissants to go and jams in the fridge 🙂
It had everything, was clean and comfortable.

  • Joann from United States of America (9/10)

Michael, our host, was incredibly responsive, accommodating, helpful, and friendly. The apartment was comfortable, nicely decorated, and very well equipped with everything we could need in the kitchen including the surprise of starter food such as orange juice, water, condiments, coffee, tea, creamer, etc., and snacks. So nice. The bathroom was so well equipped, including amenities that we have not had in other rentals.

The location was great! Walking distance to many of Athen's sites as well as convenient to the bus, local restaurants and grocer.

We would recommend the apartment without hesitation!

The location of the apartment is great – right next to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. It was easy to get into the apartment, and the instruction was clear.

The host was responsive and replied to my messages quickly.

The apartment has everything I need, including from kitchen supplies to drinks and snacks.

The place is clean and quiet. 10/10, I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to other travellers.
