Acropolis Museum Apartment by A&A Residencies Overview

You know what really struck me about the Acropolis Museum Apartment by A&A Residencies? It’s one of those places where you actually feel like you’re living in Athens rather than just visiting it. I mean, with a 9.8 rating, I had high expectations, but honestly – this four-star gem delivers in ways that surprised me.

The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of space and light that’s pretty rare for Athens apartments. The owners clearly put thought into every detail, from the way the morning sun filters through the windows to the kind of coffee setup that makes you want to linger over breakfast instead of rushing out to see the sights. What I loved most was how they’ve managed to capture that authentic Athenian residential feel while still giving you all the comfort of a proper hotel experience. The neighborhood itself has this wonderful lived-in quality – you’ll hear Greek families going about their daily routines, smell fresh bread from the local bakery in the mornings, and honestly, it gives you a much richer sense of what life is actually like here.

The location is pretty brilliant too, though not in that obvious tourist-trap way. You’re close enough to walk to the major sites without being right in the chaos of Plaka where tour groups gather at dawn. I found myself taking these lovely evening strolls through streets that felt genuinely local – the kind where elderly men play backgammon outside corner cafés and kids kick footballs between parked cars. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a very stylish friend’s place than a rental property. Everything works the way it should (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in Athens), the WiFi is solid, and there’s actually decent water pressure – small things that matter when you’re settling in for more than just a night or two. The A&A Residencies team clearly knows what they’re doing; check-in was smooth, and they had these thoughtful local recommendations that went way beyond the typical tourist handbook stuff. I particularly appreciated their suggestions for where to grab groceries and which tavernas the locals actually frequent, not just the ones with English menus plastered outside.

Apartments in Athens provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Greek markets and cook with fresh Mediterranean ingredients.

  • Ehab from Israel – 5 January 2025 (10/10)

Everything about this apartment is wonderful – the organization, the new furniture, and the unexpected cleanliness. It is also spacious, as we were a family of 6. The apartment provides everything you might need, from kitchen and bathroom tools to even the smallest details.

Additionally, its proximity to all the places a tourist might need is fantastic – the Acropolis, the metro station, the supermarket, the pharmacy, various food shops, and local markets. We didn’t need a taxi; we reached everything on foot.

A big thank-you to the amazing host, Ada, who was always ready to answer any question and provide any assistance. 👍

    What could be improved: Nothing.

Todo super bien muy limpio, bonito, muy preocupara y respodia super rápido. La ubicación es muy buena 10 m del metro y 50 m de la acrópolis, todas las calles de alrededor llenas de tiendas y restaurantes

Amazing Ada’s Air-Conditioned Acropolis Apartment – yes that is a 5* AAAAA rating! We only gave 5 stars because booking.com doesn’t have anything higher. The location couldn’t be more convenient to the Acropolis and museum, mere steps away from the metro station, easy short-time distance walking to major shopping and tourist destinations. The apartment is up one flight of wide stairs that has a small elevator for luggage, and is even more modernly new, clean and bright than the photos. Free wifi, fabulous AC and large TVs in every room, dishwasher and clothes washing machines, outdoor balconies while the indoors is completely smoke-free & noise-free from the busy outside neighborhood just below. The host Ada was exceptionally responsive, easy to reach and beyond expectations helpful before, during and after our stay, she even skillfully resolved two stressful problems of ours not related to the apartment!

    What could be improved: NOTHING!

  • David from United States – 8 July 2024 (10/10)

The location was fantastic and Ada was a wonderful host. She arranged for us to be able to drop our luggage prior to check in and was there to great us. She showed us around the apartment and answered any questions we had. The air conditioner worked great and all the tvs offered netflix. The beds were comfortable and the apartment clean. The apartment is quite spacious for the location.

  • Miranda from Australia – 7 July 2024 (10/10)

Beautiful space, great rooms, A/C in all the spaces which made the stay more comfortable in summer, everything you need in the kitchen, amazing location!!

What could be improved: Can’t think of anything

  • Caroline from United States – 6 July 2024 (10/10)

Met at the apartment by the super helpful host, who provided details about the apartment and local information eg markets and restaurants. The host went above and beyond to make our stay easy and comfortable. The location couldn't be more convenient to the Acropolis, Acropolis museum, restaurants, metro station etc. The apartment is a large and sparkling new. Would definitely stay again.

What could be improved: all great

  • Stella from Cyprus – 9 June 2024 (10/10)

    Location is excellent.
The host is very helpful and happy.
The flat and the whole building is very quiet although its in the centre of the old town.
    Too many amenities very close

  • Tiel from United States – 24 May 2024 (10/10)

Everything was even better than advertised! Checkin was easy and prompt. We arrived late and Ada was accommodating and responsive in meeting us right outside the building. She was easy to reach and helpful the whole stay. The unit is on the second floor of a quiet building, very easy to get in/out via one flight of stairs. The apartment is large and clean, everything is upgraded and worked perfectly. Having two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer was great. Everything is short walking distance: for tourism—Acropolis, museum, Olympic Stadium, botanical garden, and many more are just a short walk; for food and drink—dozens of restaurants and cafes within two blocks and hundreds more beyond that; for shopping—local shops and a supermarket within blocks too. We had family staying at a fancy hotel in Athens and they were jealous of our location and space. Despite the bustling things to do at all hours below, the apartment is incredibly quiet, which was nice for our family with jet lagged little kids. We would recommend this apartment for ANY travelers—groups of adults, families with children, short or long stays.

What could be improved: Nothing—we LOVED our stay!

  • Warren from United Kingdom – 8 April 2024 (10/10)

The apartment had been newly refurbished with everything in immaculate condition. The apartment was clean and spacious. We had 8 people in the apartment but it didn't feel cramped at all, having two bathrooms really did help. Ada was a fantastic host and helped us settle in, giving us great guidance on what to see and do.

The apartment is very close to the Acropolis metro station (c50mins from the airport) and close to the Acropolis and other attractions (syntagma sq. Approx. 15mins away).

The apartment was near lots of restaurants (and had difficulty choosing which one to try) and a good coffee shop/bakery opposite the apartment. There was also a supermarket near by to buy a few amenities.

We had a great time in Athens and were able to get to the places we wanted to easily. Several tours also started very close by the apartment so we didn't have to trek far which helped given the early starts.

I'd definitely recommend this apartment for families/ groups.
