Not in that rehearsed, corporate way, but more like they genuinely live in the city and can point you toward the little taverna that doesn’t look like much from the outside but serves the best moussaka in the district. They helped us navigate the metro system, suggested the best times to visit major sites to avoid crowds, and – this was clutch – warned us which streets get completely packed during rush hour so we could plan our daily routes accordingly.

Honestly, the only thing that might bug some people is that it doesn’t have that resort-style pool area or elaborate breakfast buffet you’d find at bigger international chains. But that’s sort of missing the point – you’re in Athens, one of the world’s most walkable historic cities. Why would you want to spend time floating in chlorinated water when you could be exploring neighborhoods that have been continuously inhabited for thousands of years?

  Location was amazing! We were able to walk everywhere and hit some really wonderful restaurants. Being that close to the acropolis was also an added plus!
  
  What could be improved: There is no hot water. We followed the instructions and the owner. Let us know that they were trying to fix the problem, but we were only in the unit for 3 days. Just bad timing I guess.

  The location was fabulous just a block from Acropolis and LaPlata. The neighborhood was clean with many restaurants, stores and markets close by. Also close to the bus lines.
  
  What could be improved: We had to text the property to get the correct address for our transport driver. Once we arrived we had to text the owner to let the person who was handing off the keys know we were outside. This could have been done more efficiently.
