You know what caught me off guard about Athens Color Cube? The name actually makes sense once you see it – this 4-star spot has these brilliant pops of color throughout that somehow manage to feel sophisticated rather than gimmicky. I mean, you walk into the lobby and there’s this perfect balance of modern Greek design with these unexpected splashes of turquoise and coral that just work.

What really impressed me (and honestly, this is coming from someone who’s stayed in way too many Athens hotels) is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between boutique charm and actual comfort. The rooms are genuinely thoughtful – not huge, but cleverly designed with these built-in storage solutions that actually make sense for travelers. The beds are properly comfortable, which you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case, and the bathrooms have this rainfall shower situation that’s not just for show. The 9.2 rating they’ve got makes total sense when you experience the service – staff members who actually seem to enjoy their jobs and know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the tourist traps.

Location-wise, it’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually hang out nearby. You’re close enough to the action without being in the middle of the chaos that is central Athens in summer. I loved that you could walk to some genuine tavernas that weren’t plastered with English menus and tourist photos, and the metro access is solid without having to deal with the noise. Actually, speaking of noise – the rooms are surprisingly quiet for a city hotel, which matters more than you think when you’re trying to recover from walking around the Acropolis all day. The whole place has this energy that feels distinctly Athenian but polished, if that makes sense. It’s the kind of hotel where you’re happy to come back to at the end of a long day of sightseeing, rather than just somewhere to crash.

  Location, Comfy bed, ice cube tray in freezer, spacious apartment.
  
  What could be improved: multi levels within the apartment. It was only one step up or down but there were many of them between rooms and from the bed. For some this would be a major problem. We found it mildly inconvenient.

  Kitchen does not come with basics
  so if you want to cook something you need to buy all the basics. oil sugar. spices. and everything and whatever you want to cook.

  Location is perfect, we walked everywhere we needed to go! There are lots of food options around, and a large supermarket is very close. Bed was very comfy.
