You know what struck me first about Athens Flair? The name actually fits – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think with hotels these days. There’s something genuinely stylish about this place that feels authentically Greek without trying too hard. I mean, you walk into the lobby and it’s got this perfect balance of modern touches with traditional elements that don’t feel forced or touristy. The marble floors have this subtle pattern that catches the light just right, and the staff greeting you actually seems happy to see you rather than going through the motions.

What really won me over was how they’ve managed to create spaces that feel intimate even though it’s a proper 4-star operation. The rooms have these gorgeous high ceilings – I’m guessing the building has some history to it – and the way they’ve furnished them is smart. Not too much stuff, but every piece feels intentional. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have excellent water pressure, which honestly can make or break a stay for me. There’s this attention to lighting throughout the hotel that creates such a warm atmosphere, especially in the evenings when everything gets this golden glow.

I spent a good bit of time people-watching from their common areas, and you get this interesting mix of travelers – some business folks, couples on romantic getaways, a few solo travelers like myself who clearly knew what they were looking for. The service level consistently impressed me; not over-the-top fancy, but genuinely helpful in that way where staff remembers your preferences without making a big show of it. The housekeeping was spot-on too – they managed to refresh everything without disturbing the little setup I had going with my work stuff spread around.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even when the hotel’s clearly busy. You can tell they’ve invested in proper soundproofing, which is such a gift when you’re trying to actually rest or get work done. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feeling that I love about Athens – you’re not stuck in some sterile hotel district, but you’re also not dealing with chaos right outside your window. That 9.0 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there a few days; it’s the kind of place where small thoughtful details add up to something that just works really well.

  Breakfast was a treat and all of the staff was fantastic! The facilities were worth the two flights walk up. I would stay there again especially as it was not right in the middle of Plaka.

  Breakfast was a box of boiled eggs, sourdough, yoghurt, fruit, cheese and nuts – with orange juice and coffee. The room was lovely and spacious as was the shower and the hot tub outside. We stayed in the cineflair suite and watched a movie outside as well using the projector. The best thing about this hotel are the staff. They are so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and tried to sort out WiFi as quickly as possible.
