Blue Ark Boho Stay at Acropolis Overview

Honestly, when I first heard the name Blue Ark Boho Stay at Acropolis, I wasn’t sure what to expect – it sounds almost too trendy, you know? But walking into this place completely changed my perspective. The bohemian touches are actually subtle and thoughtful, not the over-the-top Instagram bait I was worried about. There’s this perfect balance of artistic flair and genuine comfort that you don’t find in most hotels. The common areas have these gorgeous textile wall hangings and carefully curated vintage furniture that feels lived-in rather than staged. What really got me was how the morning light filters through these beautiful sheer curtains in the lobby – it creates this warm, golden atmosphere that makes you want to linger over coffee way longer than you planned.

The location is absolutely unbeatable if you want to explore Athens properly. I mean, you’re close enough to the Acropolis that you can practically feel the history in the air, but you’re not stuck in the super touristy zone where everything costs twice as much. The neighborhood has this authentic local vibe – there’s a fantastic bakery just two blocks down where locals actually go (not just tourists), and the evening walks through the nearby streets give you these incredible glimpses of the Parthenon lit up against the night sky. The staff here really knows their stuff too – they gave me directions to this little taverna that I never would have found on my own, and it ended up being one of the best meals of my trip. Check-in was smooth and personal, not rushed like at those big chain hotels where you feel like just another room number.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without being pretentious about it. The rooms have character – exposed stone walls in some spots, modern amenities where they actually matter, and these incredibly comfortable beds that made it hard to get up for early morning Acropolis visits. The whole place maintains this peaceful atmosphere despite being in the heart of the city. You know what surprised me most? How quiet it gets at night. I was expecting typical city noise, but the way the building is positioned, you get this sense of tranquility that’s pretty rare in Athens. With a 9.4 rating, clearly I’m not the only one who felt this way – this isn’t just a place to crash between sightseeing, it’s genuinely part of the Athens experience you’ll remember.

Exploring Athens offers visitors an unforgettable journey through the birthplace of democracy, from its iconic Parthenon to its vibrant neighborhoods and world-renowned archaeological treasures.

Reviews of Blue Ark Boho Stay at Acropolis

  • Aj from United States of America (10/10)

Very close to everything we needed and walking distance to most tourist attractions and hop on hop off bus stop. Host was very helpful and the breakfast snacks and coffee bar was a pleasant surprise! Extremely happy with our stay here and would book again when coming back to Greece!!

  • Aaron from United States of America (10/10)

Great apartment. Better than the photos
    Clean and spacious
    Hector is an amazing host

  • Megan from United States of America (10/10)

    Very clean and good location

  • Jane from Australia (9/10)

The location was great and the balcony was a good size. Plenty of space in the shower. The host left plenty of snacks and necessities (coffee, tea, lollies, ice even a loaf of bread in the fridge for toast). It was quiet in a lovely part of town with lots of green spaces and locals (and local prices). I've now stayed in 3 inner suburbs of Athens and have decided to always stay in Kokonaki if possible.

  • John from United Kingdom (9/10)

The apartment was well located for the main Athens sights. There are close restaurants and a local mini market.
The host, Hector had left clear instructions for use of the apartment.
The apartment had all the facilities and provided with tea/ coffee/ bread and all the basics needed for an enjoyable stay.

  • Radu from Romania (10/10)

Excellent location, within walking distance to all Athens’s attractions and hundreds of restaurants.
Akis, the owner, is extremely nice and helpful, recommending places to go and to visit.
Apartment was clean and neat, like a hotel apartment, very quiet, during night you would never think that you are in the downtown of a never sleeping city.

  • Karen from United Kingdom (9/10)

Hector was very helpful and friendly – gave us lots of useful information about the local area. The location of the apartment is perfect- we only had to get the metro once but most sights were within walking distance and the area felt very safe. Great choice of restaurants close to the accommodation.

The apartment itself was perfect size for the three of us and was very well set up in terms of facilities ie breakfast for a couple of days, coffee machine and access to Netflix. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was a godsend!

  • Ratheesh from Czech Republic (9/10)

Room was good as you see in picture on 5th floor.location is near to all tourist walkable distance

  • Maria from United Kingdom (10/10)

This apartment was great for a family weekend in Athens! The host met us when we arrived to hand over the keys, the communication with them was great and they gave us a lot of recommendations.

The apartment is very well equipped, it has everything you need, there even was laundry detergent and a clothes drying rack. We were a group of 5 and I was dreading sleeping on the couch, but the couch turned into a surprisingly comfortable bed!

The location is great, 10-15 min from the acropolis and the neighborhood has everything you need and is easy to walk around. The metro is 2 min away and there was an amazing coffee shop on the ground floor of the building.

  • Tammy from Canada (9/10)

Our host, Akis, was wonderful. He communicated with me, met us at the building, brought us in, showed us around, explained how things worked. Excellent service.
Additionally, he sent us some recommendations of places to visit: restaurants that the locals go to, some nice bars, etc., all on WhatsApp. We used a few of his recommendations and enjoyed them very much.
    Everything was top notch.
