The staff actually remembers your name after the first day (which honestly surprised me), and they’ve got this relaxed professionalism that makes check-in feel less like a transaction and more like… well, like you’re being welcomed somewhere.

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully comfortable – nothing flashy, but everything works the way it should. The beds are genuinely good (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms have that satisfying water pressure you hope for but don’t always get. What I really appreciated were the little details that show someone was thinking about actual guests: proper reading lights on both sides of the bed, enough outlets near the desk, and blackout curtains that actually block out light. The air conditioning runs quietly too, which matters more than people realize until they’re trying to sleep. I mean, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards – it’s sort of classic hotel neutral – but it’s clean and calming, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

Here’s the thing about this place – it’s got this steady reliability that grows on you. The restaurant serves better food than you’d expect (try the local specialties if they’re available), and room service actually arrives when they say it will. Parking was straightforward, which saved me the usual urban hotel headache of circling blocks looking for a spot. The 7.7 rating feels about right to me – it’s solidly good without being spectacular, and there’s real value in that consistency. During my stay, I noticed it attracts a mix of business travelers and tourists who seem to appreciate the no-nonsense approach. The neighborhood has a nice local feel too, with some decent cafes and shops within walking distance that aren’t just tourist traps. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a place that delivers on the basics exceptionally well and lets you focus on why you’re actually traveling, Candia Hotel hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  Loved the buffet breakfast and the roof top view was so beautiful. Loved the pool and the decor around the pool. The staff at the reception area was exceptional aswell as the waiters and waitresses at the buffet breakfast. Everyone was so helpful. Beautiful hotel.Needed more furniture toput our suitcases on. Only had twocaffy onesbut didnt want to take out of luggage. Could have two chairs in room as well jusg to sit on when not sleeping.

  The breakfast was absolutely wonderful and when 9:30 strikes, the staff politely ask if you would like to have anything else from the buffet before they remove 😉 this I found very polite and courteous. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly. The location was great too..

  Very good breakfast with a variety of options. The room was clean and spacious. Providing a kettle with coffee and tea in the room was great as was the bottle of water in the fridge. Location suited me as it was close to the train station and direct train to and from airport.

  We enjoyed the rooftop pool and the facilities that were up there. The room was satisfactory, for a 4 person room we did not feel squashed and felt the space was adequate for us.

  The most fantastic View from the roof top bar/restaurant with a pool. We sat up there the entire family and enjoyed the impressive View of Akropolis. Same time enjoying great drinks and typical greek food. Thank you! We had a great time!

  The hotel has a wonderful roof top garden with a pool, a bar with light meals and very nice seating areas, viewing Akropolis in the distance. Close to the train station, so very easy access with the train from the airport and bus 1 right outside the hotel to the city centre. Not so far to walk to city centre if preferred.
  A bit run down area, but nice, very friendly people at restaurants and shops near the hotel.
