You know what really surprised me about COMFY Flat? The name actually undersells it. I mean, sure, it’s comfortable – but this place in Athens city center has way more character than you’d expect from something called “comfy flat.” When I first walked in, I honestly thought I’d stumbled into someone’s well-designed apartment rather than typical hotel accommodation.

The location is what really makes this spot shine, though. You’re right in the thick of things without being on one of those tourist-trap streets that never quiet down. I could walk to Syntagma Square in maybe ten minutes, but the immediate neighborhood feels more like where actual Athenians live – there’s this little bakery around the corner that does incredible spanakopita, and you’ll hear Greek conversations more than English on the sidewalks. The building itself has that solid, old-Athens feel – thick walls that actually keep street noise to a minimum, which is honestly a godsend in this city. I’ve stayed in places here where you hear every scooter and late-night conversation, but this place lets you sleep.

What impressed me most was how they’ve balanced modern comfort with local flavor. The space feels genuinely livable – I’m talking a kitchen you’d actually want to cook in (not just a mini-fridge and hot plate situation), and a shower with proper water pressure. The Wi-Fi works everywhere, the AC keeps up with Athens heat, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. But they haven’t stripped away all the Greek character in favor of generic hotel blandness. The balcony – and there is one – gives you this nice slice of neighborhood life. You can sit there with morning coffee and watch the city wake up, or have evening wine while listening to families chatting from other balconies. It’s that kind of authentic Athens experience that’s getting harder to find in the center. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of place where small details work properly, staff actually seem to care about your stay, and you end up recommending it to people back home. Honestly, if you want to feel like you’re living in Athens rather than just visiting it, this is your spot.

  Apartment has perfect location near Monastiraki square. Streets nearby are full with cafes and restaurants and look safe. Self check-in was quick and easy. Might be quite noisy at night, but in 100 m from apartment there is a pharmacy where you can buy earplugs.

  Location couldn't be better, Monastiraki square is just a short walk away. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything we needed. Communication with the host was good and we had all the information about the apartment in good time before we checked in.

  Perfect for a short stay with all the things necesary to sustain (washing machine, little kitchen etc)
  
  What could be improved: Not the fault of the owner, but its impacting the experience:
  Construction workers at 1st and 2nd floor sometimes start drilling at 7am and finish at 9:30pm.. And the party outside of the hotel finishes at 2am (dont know about the weekends). Resulting in not a lot of sleeping time :p but consider this as a motivation to explore Athens more

  The location was awesome. The walk to Monastiraki square was so short. Enough space for a couple who is sightseeing. Shower was good- very hot water and very cold water and everything in between. The washer/dryer was great to have even if we didn’t end up using it.
  
  What could be improved: The only con we found was we would of loved more pillows. But that is just a personal preference. Also use the elevator, we might of forgotten there was one and did the walk up the stairs with the bags the first time. We have nothing to complain about.
