The view isn’t going to make it onto postcards, but it’s real Athens – you’ll see locals heading to work, hear the familiar chaos of traffic mixing with street vendors, and get that authentic urban energy that hotels just can’t capture. The terrace gets lovely light in the evenings too, perfect for winding down with a glass of wine after walking your feet off at the Acropolis.

The interior design hits that sweet spot between chic and comfortable – you know, actually livable rather than just Instagram-pretty. Everything feels thoughtfully chosen without being precious about it. The kitchen‘s properly equipped (I made some simple meals with ingredients from the nearby Varvakeios market), and the bed’s genuinely comfortable, which honestly surprised me given how many stylish places skimp on the mattress. Location-wise, you’re maybe a three-minute walk to Syntagma metro station, which connects you to the airport and everywhere else you need to go. Plaka’s ancient streets are right there for wandering, and you can walk to most major sites – though fair warning, Athens hills are no joke in summer heat. The neighborhood gets lively, especially on weekends, but the flat’s positioned well enough that street noise doesn’t really penetrate. I’m usually sensitive to city sounds, but I slept fine. With a 9.7 rating and those four stars, you’d expect something special, and this place delivers on that promise without feeling stuffy or overly managed. It’s like staying in a friend’s well-appointed apartment, if that friend happens to have excellent taste and lives in one of the best spots in Athens.

  The location was fantastic and we loved the flat, which was spotless. The kitchen was well equipped (though we didn't cook – that's the point of a holiday), the bed was really comfortable and the terrace was lovely.

  Amazing room, two full beds, kitchen fully equipped, fresh water in the refrigerator upon arrival. One of the best places I ever been was Emilie's apartment, sincerely, we wanted to stay longer, maybe forever!

  Location Location Location !!!! amazing place with walking distance to Monastiraki square and major night life. This house was our best decision for Athens trip. We were out with our kids till 2am eating amazing local food, dances and street as. Very safe and walking distance to the metro. We stayed in April 2024 and would come back if in Athens again.
