Plaka Apartment With Terrace View Overview
First Impressions
The Plaka Apartment With Terrace View sits right in the thick of things on a narrow cobblestone street that honestly feels like you’ve stepped back a few centuries. When I first walked up to number 7 Kékropos, I almost missed it — these old Plaka buildings have this understated charm that doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation.” You know what struck me immediately? The way this four-star place manages to feel both authentically Greek and genuinely comfortable, which isn’t always easy to pull off in Athens‘ most touristy neighborhood.
The Heart of Ancient Athens
I mean, the location is just ridiculous — and I say that in the best possible way. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Acropolis entrance, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by the kind of tavernas and cafes where locals actually eat. The narrow streets of Plaka wind around you like a maze, and honestly, getting a little lost here is half the fun. What couples seem to love most (and the ratings back this up) is how you can duck into a quiet corner for dinner, then emerge onto a bustling square filled with street musicians within the same block.
The Space Itself
The apartment feels more spacious than you’d expect from the outside — these old buildings are deceptively roomy once you’re inside. The terrace view they mention? Well, it’s not going to be some sweeping panorama, but you get these lovely glimpses of red tile roofs and the occasional peek at ancient ruins between buildings. The room setup works really well for couples who want a bit more space than a typical hotel offers, and there’s something nice about having your own little corner of this historic neighborhood, even if it’s just for a few nights.
Living Like a Local
What I actually loved most was how the place encourages you to live a bit more like an Athenian. There’s a small kitchenette that’s perfect for making morning coffee or storing those amazing Greek yogurts and honey you’ll inevitably buy at the local shops. The apartment style means you’re not tied to hotel breakfast schedules — you can wander down to the bakery on Adrianou Street when you feel like it, grab some fresh bread, and eat on your terrace while planning the day. It’s these small freedoms that make the difference between feeling like a tourist and feeling like you’re actually experiencing the city.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, it comes down to authenticity without sacrificing comfort. You’re sleeping in one of the most historically significant neighborhoods in Europe, but you’ve got modern amenities and a place that feels like home base rather than just a room to crash in. The fact that couples consistently rate the location a perfect 10 tells you everything — this isn’t just about proximity to sights, it’s about being part of the neighborhood rhythm. When you can walk to the Acropolis before the crowds arrive, then come back for an afternoon nap before heading out for dinner at a family-run taverna around the corner, well, that’s the kind of Athens experience most people dream about.
Early hotels booking in Athens requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary archaeological sites and Mediterranean atmosphere.

The location was perfect and the apartment had everything we needed. It was on a quiet street but right in the heart of beautiful Plaka and only around a five minute walk to the Acropolis. Eleana our host was wonderful, very welcoming and arranged taxi transfers for us even with a cancelled flight. Thank you! She also provided lots of tips and advice on where to eat which was great.

A lovely, clean and well equipped apartment in a quiet small street right in the heart of the Plaka. Communication with the host, Eleana, was easy and fast. Self check in is simple, and Eleana’s tips and recommendations are excellent. The Acropolis view terrace is not attached to the apartment, which is on the ground level with charming street views. You get a key to stairs leading to the roof from the 3rd floor, with a 360 degree view of Athens, Acropolis included, with a small sitting area to relax and admire it all. For us, everything was perfect. A quintessential piece of Greece in a nutshell.

Paul from United Kingdom (10/10)
Unbelievable location right next to main shopping street in Plaka as well as the Acropolis and Syntagma Square – all within a 10 minute walk. Eleana incredibly helpful and sorted restaurant recommendations as well as well as transport to the airport. Really lovely apartment – located on ground floor although terrace view was up a few stairs and onto a roof. However would thoroughly recommend this.
