Glyfada Gallery Apartment Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Glyfada Gallery Apartment, I wasn’t expecting much. The name made it sound like some pretentious art space that happened to rent rooms. But you know what? I was completely wrong, and I’m actually glad I was.

This place sits right in Glyfada, which – if you’ve never been – is this interesting mix of Athens beach suburb meets upscale neighborhood that locals genuinely love. It’s not touristy in that overwhelming way you get in Plaka, but it’s definitely not sleepy either. The apartment itself lives up to that “gallery” name, honestly. The owner has this eye for design that’s… well, it’s sophisticated without being stuffy. Think clean lines, interesting artwork that doesn’t scream “hotel art,” and furniture that you’d actually want in your own home. I mean, I found myself taking photos of the living room setup because I wanted to recreate it back home.

What really got me was the attention to details that matter. The coffee machine – and I’m picky about coffee – was actually decent. The shower had proper water pressure, which you can’t take for granted in older Greek buildings. The air conditioning worked without sounding like a freight train, which is crucial during those August heat waves when Glyfada gets seriously hot. There’s this little balcony where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up, and honestly, those moments felt more authentic than any fancy hotel terrace I’ve experienced. The kitchen is fully equipped too – not just the basic stuff they usually throw in. I actually cooked a couple meals there because the local market nearby has incredible produce and seafood. Parking was surprisingly manageable, which anyone who’s driven in Athens will appreciate. The area gets lively in the evenings (Glyfada has this great restaurant and bar scene), but it quiets down enough that you can actually sleep. That 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not perfect, I mean, the WiFi occasionally hiccupped, and the building entrance is a bit dated – but everything that actually impacts your stay works beautifully. This feels like staying in a friend’s really well-appointed apartment rather than a typical rental, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city.

Firstly it was a beautiful apartment with top notch facilities and lovely bacon eggs ham butter and juice in the fridge. And…a bottle of wine.

Super helpful in terms of checking in.

  • Tuyen from Switzerland (9/10)

Really excellent location in central Glyfada close to many shops, restaurants and the beach. A cook your own breakfast was provided in the fridge as well as juice and large bottles of water but I unfortunately never had the time to cook each morning. The airconditioning worked very well which was a relief on the really hot days. Wifi in the apartment was also excellent. Handover of keys and check out was made super easy thanks to Dimitris.

  • Ann from United States of America (10/10)

My stay at the Glyfada Gallery Apartment was amazing. My friend and I wanted to stay at a place where we could rest and gather ourselves before returning home and this was the place. I fell in love with Glyfada during my vacation last year and this apartment puts you right in the middle of it all.

Dimitris and I coordinated before arriving back in Athens and he met us upon arrival to the apartment. He gave us a quick tour of the apartment and made himself available if we had any questions. The refrigerator was stocked with provisions that we were so grateful for – breakfast in Greece (among other things) is the best. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom clean.

I will absolutely stay here again when I return for the years to come.

The location is very safe and beautiful. The beach near by so you can walk there. The owners of the place were very nice and could rely on them for anything.

  • Iyad from United Arab Emirates (10/10)

It is the best place to stay in Athens / Glyfada

  • Peter from Czech Republic (10/10)

‘Small town’ feeling by the sea only 45 minutes tram ride (perfect sightseeing) to Athens Syntagma square OR Piraeus with the tram stop by your doorstep. Apartment very clean and functional, the host provisioned an excellent breakfast for the duration of our stay. Plenty of restaurants and shops, a tip, visit the Arxelon Turtle Sanctuary (https://www.archelon.gr/eng/projects2.php?mid=3&mid2=38).
