You know what struck me first about Home Sweet Home? The name actually makes sense once you walk through those doors. I mean, it’s not just some cheesy marketing thing – there’s something genuinely homey about this 4-star place that had me feeling settled within minutes of checking in.

The lobby has this lived-in quality that’s hard to fake, with mismatched but somehow perfectly coordinated furniture that looks like it was collected over years rather than ordered from a hotel supply catalog. The staff – and I’m being honest here – they remember your name after like, one interaction. Not in that overly rehearsed way some places train their people, but more like how your neighbor might greet you. I watched the front desk manager helping an elderly guest figure out the TV remote for a solid ten minutes, no rushing, no impatience. That’s when you know a place gets it.

The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between polished and comfortable. My bed had these ridiculously soft sheets (Egyptian cotton maybe? I’m not usually one to notice but these were something else), and the bathroom actually had counter space – you’d be amazed how many hotels mess that up. What really got me though was the little kitchenette setup. Nothing fancy, just a mini-fridge that actually keeps things cold, a microwave that doesn’t sound like it’s going to explode, and – get this – real mugs instead of those paper cups. There’s even a small dining table by the window where I ended up eating takeout and catching up on emails most evenings. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which honestly can make or break a stay these days.

The neighborhood grows on you. It’s one of those areas that’s clearly transitioning – you’ve got some great little coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, but it’s not overrun with tourists yet. I discovered this incredible bakery just two blocks over that locals clearly frequent (overheard more than one conversation about weekend soccer games), and there’s a small park nearby that’s perfect for morning walks. Parking was surprisingly manageable, though I’d recommend asking the front desk about the best spots – they know which streets have the confusing meters and which ones are safe to leave your car overnight.

After four nights there, I actually felt a little sad packing up, which doesn’t happen often. The 8.8 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works, everyone’s genuinely nice, and somehow they’ve created this atmosphere where you can just… breathe. Whether you’re traveling for business or just need a comfortable base to explore from, Home Sweet Home delivers exactly what it promises. Just don’t expect to feel like you’re staying in some anonymous chain hotel – this place has personality, and honestly, that’s exactly what made it memorable.

  it is spacious with two rooms to accommodate 4 people very comfortably. it has a small kitchen with all necessary equipment to prepare anything you need. they even had bread, butter, coffee and even a welcoming cake! really nice gesture. you can find supermarkets, groceries, caffes, food, around the block.

  The Apartment is spacious and filled with light and it's well aired. There is a good balance between location, decor and price.
  The furniture has a 60s fusion vibes with period elements in contemporary style and functionality.
  Positioned on a busy road you can hear the energy, but compensates with easy and convenient access. It is easy to access the fruit market and cafeteria which make staying there efficient and very easy. Thanks to Natassa for her prompt response and support throughout my stay.

  El apartamento estaba muy limpio, impeclable. La ubicación es muy buena, los sitios de interés quedaban todos a 30-40 min andando, el barrio es seguro y tranquilo y tiene tiendas cerca. A unos 10 o 15 minutos andando hay varios restaurantes con muy buena comida y muy bien de precio donde cenamos todos los días. La comunicación con el propietario fue también excelente y nos ayudó con el transfer del aeropuerto y nos dejó entrar pronto al piso ya que nuestro avió llegaba muy temprano.
