I mean, with a 9.4 rating, I was expecting something nice, but honestly – this 4-star spot exceeded what I thought I’d get for the price point.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, and I’m talking proper kitchens here, not those tiny hotel kitchenettes with a microwave and mini-fridge. The kind where you can actually cook a real meal if you want to skip another restaurant dinner. The living areas have this comfortable, lived-in quality without feeling worn down – sort of like staying at your most stylish friend’s place. What really got me was the attention to details you don’t usually see: good water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think), blackout curtains that actually block light, and – this might sound weird – but the Wi-Fi works everywhere, even in the bathroom. Little things, but they add up when you’re trying to get work done or just relax.

The staff runs a tight ship without being stuffy about it. Check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about local transport options, the front desk person didn’t just hand me a generic map – they actually marked specific stops and mentioned which buses to avoid during rush hour. That’s the kind of insider knowledge that makes a difference. The building itself is well-maintained and surprisingly quiet, even though there’s clearly life happening around the neighborhood. I barely heard my neighbors, which is pretty impressive for apartment-style accommodations. Parking was straightforward too – no circling the block or dealing with complicated validation systems. Sometimes the simplest things are what make a place memorable, and Hermes Apartments gets those fundamentals right while adding enough character to feel special rather than corporate.

  Accessing the property was slightly quirky, but we considered it part of the local experience.
  The host was very responsive to our questions about controlling the AC (3 separate units), as well as the timed hot water heater (also quirky but we took it in stride), and providing access to a washer/dryer with the unit.
  The unit itself was exactly what we needed – adequate room for 4 of us to rest and recuperate after very active touring days, central location for access (mostly walking!) to most of our tours, very clean and modern.
