What really won me over though was the practical stuff that you don’t always think about until you need it. The kitchenettes are properly equipped – not just a mini-fridge and a broken coffee maker, but actual cookware if you want to grab some fresh ingredients from the local market. The Wi-Fi actually works (seriously, why is this still a gamble in 2024?), and there’s decent water pressure in the showers. I spent a week there last September, and the owner – who you’ll probably meet during check-in – genuinely seems to care about making sure everything’s working properly. He gave me this casual rundown of the best bakery nearby and which bus routes actually run on time. Small stuff, but it matters when you’re trying to navigate a new place. The location puts you maybe a ten-minute walk from Glyfada’s main beach strip, close enough that you can easily pop back for a nap or to drop off shopping bags, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic. There’s decent parking too, which anyone who’s driven in Athens will tell you is worth its weight in gold. Honestly, for a 4-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of comfort and that whole “home away from home” thing that most hotels just talk about but don’t actually deliver.

  I stayed at the roof top apartment. It's got a huge outdoor area with outdoor tables, chairs, and sunbeds to chill on. There's even an exercise bike machine that you can use. Inside the apartment there's air-conditioning, fridge, microwave, TV, wifi, washing machine etc. i.e. everything you'll ever need as a solo traveller. The owners live in the same building and saved my day when I forgot the key and locked myself outside. They are very nice and hospitable. They don't quite speak English but they speak German quite well. You can also message the (service team?) via the booking.com app if you have any questions or run into any problems. They speak English and respond very quickly.
