Kalliopis Apartment Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Kalliopis Apartment, I wasn’t expecting much. Four stars and a 9.7 rating? That combo usually means either fake reviews or seriously inflated expectations. But man, was I wrong about this place.
The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of “oh, someone actually lives here” – and I mean that in the best possible way. You know how most hotel rooms feel like sterile boxes where a thousand strangers have slept? This is the complete opposite. The furniture actually matches (shocking, I know), there’s real art on the walls instead of those generic prints, and honestly, the kitchen setup is better than what I have at home. I’m talking full-sized appliances, decent cookware, even proper wine glasses. The kind of details that tell you the owner actually thought about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos.
What really got me though was how quiet it stays, even during what I assume are busy periods. The walls are thick – like, properly thick – so you’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway or the neighbor’s TV at 2 AM. The bed situation is solid too, none of that rock-hard mattress nonsense you sometimes get. Actually decent pillows, which… well, if you travel enough, you know that’s basically winning the lottery. The bathroom’s got this rainfall showerhead that actually has pressure – I mean, simple pleasures, right?
Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart: it feels like staying at a friend’s apartment, if that friend happened to have impeccable taste and actually cared about your comfort. There’s this lived-in warmth that you just can’t fake. Little touches like proper blackout curtains (thank you, seriously), USB ports near the bed where you’d actually want them, and a coffee setup that doesn’t involve those terrible pod machines. The whole space just flows naturally – you’re not constantly bumping into furniture or wondering why they put the desk in the most awkward corner possible.
I stayed during what seemed like a pretty busy time, but the check-in was smooth, no drama. The place stays cool without cranking the AC to arctic levels, and there’s enough natural light during the day that you don’t feel like you’re living in a cave. Storage space is actually thoughtful too – proper hangers, drawer space that makes sense, places to put your stuff without everything ending up in a pile on the floor.
The 9.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxury – it’s just genuinely well-done hospitality. The kind of place where you find yourself thinking “I could actually live here for a while” instead of counting down the days until checkout. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room, this is your spot.
Hotels near me in Athens offer convenient access to the ancient center, where guests can easily walk to the Acropolis Museum, Ancient Agora, and traditional tavernas.

Reviews of Kalliopis Apartment
Jagoda from Slovenia – 10 September 2024 (10/10)
Perfect stay, apartment is nicely decorated and very well maintained, clean, very well equipped. There was even welcome food in the fridge, water and a bottle of wine, very thoughtful. The owner was very nice and welcoming, easy to communicate with, made sure we have everything we need. The location of the apartment was central, nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. The view from the balcony is spectacular. I would highly recommend!

The apartment is one of the best I ever stayed in! It's super clean and modern, has an amazing view, and has everything you need, including a full kitchen setup, a coffee machine, and even welcoming food and drinks!
I traveled with my teenage daughter who felt less comfortable with the neighborhood, but I loved it! Off the tourist center, but 15-20 minutes walking distance to anywhere in the city center, 10 minutes to the subway station, supermarket just around the corner, lots of cool restaurants and bars in the area. It felt completely safe as well.
Dimitris was super helpful and responsive. Our flight back was delayed for a few hours, and Dimitris kept our language, so we had a few more hours to walk around – it was completely not obvious, thank you so much for that!
What could be improved: The water pressure in the shower is very low, but it's not that dramatic when it's so hot outside 🙂İlhan from Turkey – 4 June 2024 (10/10)
Everything is perfect and also amazing view Akropolis

This apartment has the most beautiful view and was very comfortable having all the amenities you need. Location was excellent, out of the most touristic areas but very easy to reach city centre by walking. Great restaurants are located close by with amazing food at a very good price. Host was very nice and helpful, and we were welcomed with a nice bottle of wine and fruits. We loved our stay here and would be staying here again when we’re back to Athens.

We had a great stay at the Kalliopis apartment! The view was of course stunning and so special to be able to see the Acropolis from the apartment. The balcony was also lovely to sit outside and enjoy the view with a glass of wine. The apartment was very clean. The bed was comfortable, shower was great and hot. There was a full kitchen set up and we appreciated being able to use the refrigerator, coffee machine and electric kettle. The host was very helpful and responsive with any questions I had. We like to walk a lot, and so we found it easy enough to walk from the apartment to the historical sites (~15 minutes to Monastiraki, ~25 to Acropolis) but I believe the metro would have just been about an 8 minute walk if we chose that. The tourist areas of Athens can be kind of hectic, so I really enjoyed staying in an apartment in a neighborhood that was away from the tourist areas and much more local and quiet, but also there were plenty of restaurants and bars close by. All in all we were very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend to book here if you come to Athens!

It is an awesome apartment with a great view of the Acropolis and a lovely host. There was welcome food and drinks which we really appreciated because we arrived hungry and thirsty. The apartment had everything we needed, was spacious and quiet despite the very loud atmosphere of Athens. All the great attractions are within walking distance.
What could be improved: The neighbourhood is not the best and a bit dirty, but it is totally compensated by the great apartment with its view and host.Tejus from United Kingdom – 21 October 2023 (10/10)
One of the best apartments I've stayed in. The balcony view of the Acropolis was stunning – something many would pay hundreds more for. The bed was cosy, the kitchen modern and fully equipped, and the bathroom was nice too. The apartment itself is high up in a bloc, in a cute and trendy neighborhood just a 8-10 min walk from the hubbub of the city. Other than the incredible view, the lovely owner kept some food and treats in the room for us – which helped us out a lot.

Very good communication with a host, apartment was very clean and met all expectations from the photos. The neighbourhood is not the nicest but location is really great.
Nikola from Germany – 25 September 2023 (10/10)
*the view is just incredible
*the apartment was incredibly clean
*Dimi made sure everything was okay
*we even got fruits and wine as a little welcome
*air conditioning
*withing 15minutes you're in Athens center
*free parking on the streets around the building (always found a parking spot quite easily)
What could be improved: *the water pressure is not so good (which is not a big deal but if you have long hair, plan some extra time)
*the house does not look really nice when entering but once your in the apartments it's so comfy and nice
