limehome Athens Solonos City Center Overview
I’ll be honest, when I first walked into limehome Athens Solonos City Center, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like another modern apartment-style hotel. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in all the right ways. The location on Solonos Street puts you right in the thick of things – I mean, you’re basically surrounded by some of Athens’ best neighborhoods without being stuck in the tourist trap areas that feel completely disconnected from real life.
The thing about this place is that it feels more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel room. Each unit has this clean, minimalist vibe that actually works (unlike some places that go for “minimalist” and end up feeling sterile). The kitchenettes are properly equipped – not just for show – which honestly saved me a fortune since eating out for every meal in central Athens can get pricey fast. I appreciated little touches like having actual mugs instead of those tiny coffee cups, and the fact that the Wi-Fi actually worked consistently. The building itself has this interesting mix of modern renovation with some original character still showing through, which feels very Athens to me – this city where ancient and contemporary just sort of coexist everywhere you look.
What really sold me on the place was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the National Archaeological Museum, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he told me which streets to take to avoid the construction near Omonia Square and mentioned this little bakery I’d pass that makes incredible spanakopita. That kind of local insight makes such a difference when you’re trying to experience a city beyond the guidebook highlights. The area gets lively in the evenings (there are some great bars within walking distance), but the rooms are well-insulated so you’re not dealing with street noise all night. Check-in was surprisingly smooth too – they’ve got this digital system that’s efficient without feeling impersonal. With an 8.4 rating, I’d say they’ve earned it by focusing on the details that actually matter to travelers rather than flashy amenities you’ll never use.

Reviews of limehome Athens Solonos City Center
Lana from United Kingdom – 9 April 2025 (9/10)
Great location, easy walking distance from all main attractions and nice areas. Quieter area (not as touristy) so some shops and restaurants nearby but not as many as other areas. Really easy access, perfectly clean room and great bathroom/kitchenette with massive fridge. Small balcony that doesn’t get the sun but nice to have outside area. Would definitely stay again!

This is a cute little suite that is perfect for a solo traveler. It's clean and has a simple kitchen.

Cozy, simple and very clean
What could be improved: The ac units were right next to the window so there was a good amount of noise especially when I opened the window. (1st floor)Georgios from Greece – 11 February 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: I CAN T USE MY NETFLIX
AND DON T WORK THE RADIATOR IN THE BATHROOMLea from Switzerland – 29 October 2024 (8/10)
Comfortable, clean and convenient
What could be improved: Access to the appartement (lack of near public transportation stations when with luggage and lift only from the 1st floor)
Contact with the host is too automatised and lacks the human touch in my opinionLuke from Malta – 30 September 2024 (9/10)
the place is very clean and in a central area
Erdem from Austria – 15 July 2024 (9/10)
Location was good, really close to city center/metro line. Getting into the apartment was also quite easy with just the code. Room was quite modern and clean. Everything you need was in the apartment. It is really like a vacation apartment.
What could be improved: The AC was dropping right outside our window onto plastic cover. So it was loud and it was dropping for a long time in the night. After awhile it was getting pretty annoying. Also when the people was entering the building in the night, they were loud, it is not Limehome's problem but the door was not exactly soundproof.Gigi from United Kingdom – 11 July 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: The location is not the best. It is located in a commericial area next to a "fringe" neighbouhood.
The location is not as convenient to Kolonaki as I would have prefered.Dr_sam67 from Lebanon – 3 July 2024 (9/10)
Comfy beds. Clean rooms.
What could be improved: it is nice to have a self check in, but sometimes when you arrive bit early from Airport with all your bags, there is no place to. wot for you room to be ready and you need to wait on the street.
if an option to have at least a place inside the building to keep the luggage before check in and check. out, i would. give it a full. 10
