Live in Athens, PSYRRI Central Apartments Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Live in Athens, PSYRRI Central Apartments, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from a 4-star place in Psyrri. But you know what? This neighborhood has completely transformed over the past few years, and these apartments are right in the heart of what makes it so compelling now.
Psyrri used to be pretty rough around the edges, but now it’s where you’ll find the best street art in Athens (seriously, some of these murals are incredible), plus all the locals seem to end up here for dinner and drinks. The apartments themselves feel more like staying in a friend’s well-designed flat than a typical hotel – which I mean in the best possible way. The spaces are actually thoughtfully laid out, with kitchenettes that you’ll probably use more than you think, especially when you discover the tiny grocery stores tucked between the tavernas. I found myself picking up fresh bread and those amazing Greek tomatoes almost every morning.
What really struck me was how the place manages to feel both central and tucked away at the same time. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Monastiraki (you can probably hear the metro if you listen carefully), but the specific streets around here have this almost village-like quality where the same shopkeepers start recognizing you after a couple days. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of place where small details are clearly thought through, like having actual good lighting for reading and outlets where you actually need them. The noise level really depends on which side your apartment faces, though honestly, the sounds of Psyrri at night – people chatting over wine, maybe some live music drifting from a nearby bar – it’s more atmospheric than annoying. Well, most nights anyway.
One thing I particularly appreciated was how the check-in process felt refreshingly straightforward, and the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood rather than just pointing you toward the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this incredible little ouzeri that I never would have found otherwise, tucked down an alley that doesn’t look like much from the street. The area gets pretty lively on weekend evenings (this is definitely not a quiet residential zone), but that energy is honestly part of what makes staying here special. You’re not just visiting Athens – you’re actually staying in a part of the city where real life happens, where locals bring their friends when they want to show off their city.

We stayed in the "Split – Level Penthouse with Acropolis view – Live in Athens #09"
The front door is located on the 3rd floor. There is a working elevator, which we appreciated and used for our luggage. This is a one bedroom unit with 2 full bathrooms (including showers) and a decent living room and kitchen.
Other than the showers mentioned below, we loved the place. The air conditioning worked very well. The bedroom stayed nice and cool. The location of this apartment building is perfect! It allowed us to explore Athens very easily by foot. The nearby streets are lively and fun to walk around. So many restaurants/bars to choose from! Additionally, all of the historic sites are walkable by foot. There may have been noise from the streets but we were not bothered by noise at the end of the night. And had no trouble sleeping. Ear plugs were provided but not needed.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff at the front desk was wonderful! Thanos made excellent restaurant recommendations as well as gave us tips to help us plan our sightseeing and to make the most of our one full day in Athens. Thanos also helped us set up a taxi ride to and from the airport. We arrived late at night so it was great to have the ability to do self check in! It is worth the few extra dollars to set up the taxi ride with the front desk to have reliable transportation. We were also able to store our luggage at the front desk on the day of check out. This allowed us to be able to explore more of Athens before leaving for our afternoon flight.
I would stay here again due to the location, the friendliness & helpfulness of front desk staff, and the flexibility of self check in and luggage storage!Dimitra from Australia (8/10)

This apartment was great! Friendly staff met me to show me how things in the apartment work and gave me a ton of recommendations for the area! With 2 balconies and the roof top terrace with views of the Acropolis, I couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. It was also in a great location. Close to the train station and walkable to absolutely everything!

The location is awesome. In the night it's quite even if the neighborhood is busy. The bed is comfortable, it had everything. We also could leave our bags at the reception after the check out.
