I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Luxury Apartment In Central Kolonaki, I was a bit skeptical. You know how these apartment rentals can be hit or miss, especially when they throw around words like “luxury.” But this 4-star place actually delivers on most of what it promises, and the location is genuinely fantastic if you want to experience Athens like a local rather than just another tourist.

Kolonaki is hands down one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city – it’s where Athenians with good taste actually live and hang out. You’re literally walking distance from some of the best cafes and boutiques in the city, and I mean the kind of places where you’ll hear more Greek than English, which honestly makes all the difference. The apartment sits right in the heart of it all, so you can grab your morning coffee from one of those tiny neighborhood spots (there’s this amazing place just around the corner where the owner will remember your order after two visits), then wander over to the National Garden when you need a break from the urban energy. What I really love is that you’re close enough to walk to Syntagma Square and all the major sites, but far enough away that you won’t be dealing with tour buses rumbling past your window at 7 AM.

The apartment itself is well-appointed – I mean, it’s not going to blow you away with cutting-edge design or anything, but it’s comfortable and thoughtfully set up. The 7.6 rating feels about right to me; it’s solidly good without being extraordinary. The kitchen actually works (which isn’t always a given with these rentals), and there’s enough space to spread out if you’re staying for more than just a quick weekend trip. One thing worth noting – and this is pretty typical for central Athens – it can get a bit noisy on weekend evenings since Kolonaki has a pretty active nightlife scene. Not party-till-dawn loud, but you’ll hear people walking by and chatting late into the night, especially during summer when everyone’s out on the terraces. Personally, I find it kind of charming – it feels like you’re really part of the neighborhood rhythm – but light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. The building itself has that classic Athens character, which means some quirks (the elevator’s a bit temperamental), but also means you’re staying somewhere with actual personality instead of some generic hotel chain.

  It was clean and spacious and the location was perfect, great restaurants nearby and walkable to many sites. Very close to the metro. Get on metro and stay on to the Evangelimos stop and the apartment is only a few blocks away. Go to same stop to return to airport.
  Getting in to the apartment was very easy with the code to obtain keys. Very secure building.
  
  What could be improved: There is no instruction for the washer/dryer machine, so we could only figure out the washing options. Had to hang cloths to dry and limited space for that.

  The apartment's location is excellent, located close to both the center of Kolonaki and the metro (approximately five minutes away on foot from both). The neighborhood is quite peaceful and the apartment is quiet and warm, making it ideal for rest.

  The property was clean. The communication was relatively fast. The owners had left two bottles of wine to welcome us, which was a very nice touch. The information on rules of the house and instructions were clear and sufficient.
  
  What could be improved: The Kolonaki area is under construction, while being expensive for frequenting restaurants and bars (our purpose to select it), and not really enjoyable due to dust and noise. Not the fault of apartment owners, but such inconvenience should be reflected in the price of accommodations.
  Also, the property might be a bit quicker in rectifying an issue: we notified them that we were missing bed sheets for two people, mother and adult son, who dont sleep in the same bed, which is why we booked an apt which accommodates three people in two separate rooms. The first night one of us slept without sheets; the next night they dropped off only a single flat sheet. (we were there only 2 nights). A weird super-minimalist approach for that level of accommodation that hampers sleeping comfort. 🙂
