I ended up grabbing ingredients from the local market and cooking a few meals because, honestly, sometimes you need a break from tavernas (and your wallet does too).
What really sets this place apart though is how it handles that whole “feeling like a local” thing without trying too hard. The balcony – and I can’t stress this enough – isn’t just large, it’s positioned perfectly for people-watching and getting those golden hour shots of the neighborhood. You’ll hear the genuine sounds of Athens life: kids playing in the courtyard across the way, the old guy who apparently waters his plants every single evening around 6 PM, the distant hum of traffic that somehow becomes comforting after a day or two. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s those little touches that add up, like actually good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that work, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to video call home. I’ve stayed in five-star hotels with worse basics, honestly. Just be aware that if you’re someone who needs constant hotel services, this obviously isn’t that – but if you want a genuine base in Athens where you can spread out, breathe a bit, and feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it, this apartment nails it.

An excellent location—only 10 to 15 minutes’ walk to all major attractions, so there’s really no need for any transportation. Even though the host offers free parking, we didn’t need it at all. (Walking around the neighborhood is very pleasant.) The room was extremely clean, and the bathroom, kitchen, and washing machine were close to perfect. The host was very thoughtful and provided all the little essentials (utensils, laundry pods, jam, etc.), even a bottle of chilled white wine. The self-check-in instructions were very convenient. The host provided very clear photo guides, which allowed us to check in without disturbing anyone—even though we arrived late at night. (The host did offer a phone number for immediate contact, but we didn’t need to use it at all.) If I visit Athens again, I would absolutely choose this place again. Could be improved: My only concern was the entrance and elevator on the ground floor. They seemed a bit old and not very well-lit. After the shops on the first floor closed, the area looked a little too quiet—possibly unsettling for a girl entering alone at night. (That said, during our 3-day, 2-night stay, everything was completely safe. We did not encounter any inappropriate individuals or incidents.)

Wonderful place and a truly enjoyable stay — it's really hard to find anything to complain about. The property offers free parking in the city center, which is a huge plus. Although it's a short walk from the apartment, it's absolutely worth it considering how stressful parking in central Athens can be, especially with private lots where you have to leave your keys. The location is perfect for walking and exploring all the key sights of Athens. We were also allowed to leave our luggage in the apartment before the official check-in time, which was a lifesaver - especially when traveling with children. Could be improved: If I had to mention any downsides, they would be very minor. One of the bedside lamps wasn’t working — probably just a burnt-out bulb. The terrace is large, but the view is nothing special. The building entrance and elevator aren’t particularly nice, but these are small issues compared to the overall experience.

Great location, we walked everywhere. Close to all food places and historical sites we wanted to go to. The place was clean. Nice balcony. Hosts were very responsive to questions. All facilities in the apartment (coffee machine,washing machine, dish soap), even some snacks and water bottles. Perfect for 3 days for 2 adults 2 young kids. Would recommend. Could be improved: Small thing was the shower doesn't drain quick enough, so runs risk of flooding the bathroom, but can get around that by not having very long showers.
