Nido in the Acropolis overview
So I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Nido in the Acropolis, I thought it was just another hotel trying to cash in on the whole “we’re near ancient ruins” thing. You know how it is in Athens, every place claims they’ve got the best Acropolis views. But this 4-star spot actually delivers on that promise, and then some.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel both intimate and polished at the same time. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about every detail – not in an obsessive way, but like… well, like how you’d set up your own place if you had impeccable taste and a decent budget. The lobby has this warm, residential feel that makes you want to sink into one of their chairs with a coffee and just watch Athens wake up through the windows. And honestly, that 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a day or two. The staff remembers your name (which sounds small but feels huge when you’re jet-lagged), and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to send you to that little souvlaki place three blocks over that only locals seem to know about.
Here’s the thing about staying this close to the Acropolis – you’re going to hear some tourist chatter during the day, but by evening it gets surprisingly quiet. I mean, you’re literally in one of the most historic neighborhoods in Europe, so you accept that trade-off. What you might not expect is how easy it becomes to slip into the rhythm of the area. Morning walks before the crowds arrive, late dinners at family-run tavernas where they’ll argue (good-naturedly) about which wine you should try. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you can walk to all the major sites – Plaka is basically at your doorstep – but you’re not drowning in tour groups every time you step outside. Check-in was smooth, no drama with luggage storage when we arrived early, and the room was actually ready before the official time. Small things, but they matter when you’ve been traveling for twelve hours. The whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like someone had thought through all the little friction points that usually make hotel stays just slightly annoying and smoothed them out.
Hotels in Athens offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this ancient metropolis, with easy access to world-class museums, archaeological sites, and bustling markets.

Ginger
A perfect location for seeing the "sites" and in lovely Plaka!
Zorica
The property was comfortable and beautiful. It seemed that a lot of thought was put into designing the property. The apartment is very spacious and the living room and dining room have plenty of natural light flowing in. We felt it was very easy to explore Athens while staying here. The property is located in the vibrant neighborhood of Plaka and it is close to important landmarks. There is plenty of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity.
Catalina
The location, the overall apartment, the fact that we did not need AC even if outside it was very hot.
Marion
The host was very responsive. Location was excellent. Beautiful little balcony.

Alexander was a super kind, accommodating and hospitable host. He was easily accessible and always responded quickly to messages. We wanted a fan for the bedroom since it is hot in Athens (and there is no AC in the bedroom) and he quickly sourced one and personally dropped it off the same day. We slept very peacefully at night, the bedroom is located farther from the street inside the apartment so it was quiet in the room. The rooms were all beautiful, clean, and functional - exactly like the pictures! The living room and dining room are especially beautiful, with bright natural lighting and tasteful design. The location of the apartment is perfect, right in Plaka and we walked to all the sites comfortably. Sintagma square is right by the apartment with the metro and the park is also very accessible.

The location is great, in the centre , without the need of a car. Everything important in Athens city is within walking distance. The place is very comfortable with many interesting details, art and entertainment. Plenty of space to do your work by day and also relax and Netflix in the evenings. The bedroom is very quiet and the common areas are lively, with a beautiful view to the church windows. When in Athens for a short stay, it is a very nice place to stay.
