Not Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Not Hotel on Voutadon Street, you’ll immediately notice this isn’t your typical five-star property — and I mean that in the best possible way. The name itself is cheeky, almost like the owners are winking at the whole luxury hotel concept. Located in Athens‘ Koukaki neighborhood, this place manages to feel both sophisticated and refreshingly unpretentious. The building has this modern minimalist vibe that somehow doesn’t clash with the surrounding traditional Greek architecture. It’s a rare find that balances contemporary design with local character.

The Neighborhood Experience

Honestly, the location is what really sold me on this place. You’re tucked away on a quieter street, but you can walk to the Acropolis Museum in about ten minutes — couples especially seem to love this area, and I can see why. The neighborhood has that authentic Athens feel without being touristy or overwhelming. There’s a fantastic little taverna just around the corner that locals actually frequent, and you know what? The hotel staff will point you toward these hidden gems rather than the obvious tourist traps. This insider knowledge is invaluable for travelers seeking genuine experiences.

Luxury Redefined

The room I stayed in was spacious and thoughtfully designed — clean lines, premium materials, but nothing felt ostentatious or over-the-top. What impressed me most was the attention to detail: the lighting actually works for reading, the shower pressure is excellent, and the air conditioning is whisper-quiet. The luxury here feels earned rather than flashy. You get the sense that every element was chosen for a reason, not just because it looked expensive. This philosophy extends throughout the entire property.

Dining and Amenities

The breakfast situation is actually quite impressive — they’ve got vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I watched them prepare a breakfast-to-go for another guest, and it was beautifully packaged, not just thrown together. The restaurant focuses on modern Greek cuisine with a twist, and while I’m usually skeptical of hotel dining, this was genuinely good. They also have private parking available, which is honestly a godsend in this part of Athens where finding a spot can be challenging. The culinary offerings truly stand out.

Why Guests Love It

What sets Not Hotel apart is this perfect balance they’ve struck between luxury and authenticity. You get all the high-end amenities and impeccable service you’d expect from a premium property, but without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with five-star hotels. The staff treats you like a friend visiting Athens rather than just another guest to process. Recent guests have been raving about the location, and after spending time here, I totally get it — you feel connected to the real Athens while still enjoying that cocoon of comfort when you need it. This unique approach to hospitality makes it truly memorable.

Exploring Athens offers visitors an unforgettable journey through the birthplace of democracy, from its iconic Parthenon to its vibrant neighborhoods and world-renowned archaeological treasures.

Reviews of Not Hotel

  • Dijana from Austria (10/10)

Lovely boutique hotel with a small number of rooms, a beautiful pool and a small restaurant. Breakfast assortment was delicious as. They use local / slow food and the teas and cosmetic products in the bath room, such as the body lotion, are locally produced as well. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfy. It took about 20min walk to the Monastoraki square. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

During my stay at this exceptional hotel in Athens, I was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of the experience. The property is very well-preserved, showcasing a perfect blend of historic charm and modern elegance. The rooms were nothing short of spectacular—spacious, immaculately clean, and designed with meticulous attention to detail.

The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and eager to assist, which added a personal touch to the stay. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was tranquil and inviting, making it an ideal retreat to unwind and recharge.

Moreover, the architectural design of the hotel was a standout feature. From the thoughtful layout to the exquisite details in the decor, it’s clear that preserving the cultural essence of Athens while offering modern comforts was a priority.

Extremely beautiful and boutique experience – the breakfast daily was wonderful, fresh orange and a la carte options in addition to a breakfast board – absolutely wonderful staff. Angela was a delight in addition to the rest of the team. Security to the building is great as well as there is always a front desk attendant. The location was convenient as it’s close to all the night life while still have a privacy and being nice.

  • Robbie from Ireland (10/10)

This hotel is one of the more unique experiences we have ever had , Everything from the breakfast offering with Greek platters placed on your table the second you arrive to the Big Green Egg BBQ in the courtyard with is fired up every day as to be ready to serve you a steak as you like it. The rooms are very spacious and one of the reasons we also picked it . The
in room toiletries are bespoke and great quality. Location wise, the metro is 200 meters away and you can be in the center city within 10 minutes of leaving the hotel and that metro goes straight to the airport too
