Parthenon retreat Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Parthenon Retreat, I wasn’t expecting much from a 4-star place. But walking through those doors completely changed my perspective, and that 9.7 rating? Yeah, it’s completely deserved. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that washes over you – maybe it’s the way the natural light filters through the lobby, or how the staff actually looks genuinely happy to see you arrive.
What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to create something that feels both sophisticated and completely unpretentious. The rooms have this perfect balance where everything feels thoughtfully designed without being overly fussy. I mean, you can tell someone actually stayed in these rooms before deciding where to put the outlets and how to angle the reading lights. The beds are seriously comfortable – I’m talking about that sweet spot where the mattress has just enough give without being too soft, and honestly, I slept better there than I have at some 5-star places that cost twice as much. You know what really impressed me? The soundproofing. Even though I could see other guests coming and going, the hallways stayed remarkably quiet.
The common areas have this lived-in elegance that makes you want to actually hang out there instead of just passing through. I ended up spending way more time than planned just sitting in their lounge area with a coffee, watching other travelers and getting some work done. The WiFi is rock solid too – which, let’s face it, can make or break a stay these days. What sets Parthenon Retreat apart though is the staff’s approach to service. They’re attentive without being hovering, helpful without being pushy. When I mentioned I was looking for a good local restaurant, the front desk person didn’t just hand me a generic tourist brochure – they actually asked what I was in the mood for and gave me three specific recommendations based on that. All three were excellent, by the way. The whole experience just feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find. Sure, it’s not the flashiest place you’ll ever stay, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want – somewhere that focuses on getting all the fundamentals absolutely right rather than trying to wow you with gimmicks.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Athens through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s ancient heritage and modern attractions.

Jelena from United Kingdom (9/10)
The apartment is very comfortable.
Janet from Canada (10/10)
The suite was very clean, tastefully decorated and secure. (Automatic roller shutters on the balcony doors) The owner provided large quantities of coffee pods for the coffee maker, fruit, water, juice, sugar, honey and bread snacks. Communication and entry to the suite was timely and all through the Booking App messages. Location is near the Acropolis Metro and the Acropolis site as well there is a park area just up the hill. There is a grocery store in the next block and many restaurants nearby. We enjoyed our stay at the Parthenon Retreat.
Janire from Spain (10/10)
When we arrived they had left bread, fruit, juice, yogurt, butter and jam, which was very kind. The place was fully equipped, very close to the Parthenon, just 2 mins away and even though it was centric, it still managed to be remarkably quiet.
Shota from Georgia (10/10)
Great location, clean apartment, excellent hospitality.
Stacey from United Kingdom (10/10)
It has everything you need from a home from home. Perfectly located for all the best sites and restaurants. It's a really big and cosy apartment.
The host was fantastic upon arrival I had an issue with Google maps finding the apartment and the key. Messaged the owner and rather than messaged me back he turned up and showed me around the apartment. Fantastic communication throughout the stay.Kai from Estonia (10/10)
The apartment was really clean. Complementary fruit in the fridge really saved our day as we arrived with a hungry and tired 5 year old. Rooms stayed nice and cool most days, did not even need to turn on the AC. Grocery stores and nice cafes close by. Washing machine was a real bonus for us.

Lovely apartment close to everything but far enough to be peaceful. Would recommend. Owner very helpful.
