The kitchenette situation is legit too, not one of those sad mini-fridge setups. I mean, you’re in Athens, so you’ll probably want to eat out constantly anyway, but having the option to grab groceries from the little market around the corner and make coffee exactly how you like it? That’s worth something.

What really sold me on this place though – and why I keep recommending it to friends heading to Athens – is how the staff actually knows the neighborhood. Not just the obvious stuff like “Acropolis is that way,” but the real details. They pointed me toward this tiny taverna about three blocks over that I never would’ve found otherwise, and steered me away from the tourist trap places that look tempting but will disappoint your wallet and your taste buds. The morning routine here is pretty sweet too; you can grab your coffee and actually walk up to the Acropolis before the cruise ship crowds descend, then come back and properly start your day. I did that twice and it felt like having a secret advantage over every other tourist in the city. The area gets a bit lively in the evenings – nothing crazy, just the normal sounds of people enjoying themselves in nearby restaurants and cafes – but the suites are well-insulated enough that it never kept me awake. Actually, I found it kind of charming, like a gentle reminder that you’re staying in a real neighborhood, not some sanitized tourist bubble. And honestly, with a 9.1 rating, I wasn’t the only one who felt this way – though I will say the place books up pretty quickly during peak season, so don’t wait around if you’re planning a summer trip.

  Great location in Plaka and we were able to see many attractions by only walking a few minutes and also close to shops and best restaurants in the area. Hotel is very comfortable, clean and close to metro station which was great as we used the metro to go to the airport.

  The apartment is cosy and clean, and is more modernised than most apartments in Athens. Decent shower with constant hot water in winter (not a given in Greece) and a good extractor fan. Comfortable bed with near-blackout external shutter to the small balcony. I stayed there when it was very cold and the air con kept the room at a comfortable temperature. There was also a heated towel rail in the bathroom. The door to the room has a high security locking system, and access is through another door to that section of the building that locks. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Syntagma and restaurants/bars/cafes/shops.
  
  What could be improved: Shutter could be completely blackout. Bathroom ceiling has black mould, it is very high up and you can’t smell it but it’s unsightly. Some tea bags would be nice.
