I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name Renovated Kallimarmaro Apt in Athens Historic center, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The “Kallimarmaro” reference is actually pretty clever though, since it’s named after the marble stadium where they held the first modern Olympics (locals just call it the Panathenaic Stadium). This 4-star place sits right in the thick of Athens’ historic center, and after spending a few days there, I can tell you it’s one of those spots that actually lives up to its 8.0 rating.

The apartment itself feels like someone took a traditional Athenian building and gave it the renovation it deserved – you know, keeping all the character but adding the stuff you actually need. The ceilings are high in that old European way that makes even small spaces feel grand, and honestly, the morning light streaming through those windows is something else. You’re basically a stone’s throw from Syntagma Square, which means you can walk to pretty much everything that matters – the Acropolis, Plaka’s winding streets, those little tavernas that don’t even have signs but somehow serve the best souvlaki you’ve ever had. I mean, I found myself walking past the same gyros guy three times a day just because it was so convenient.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re in the absolute heart of everything. Athens can get pretty lively (especially around Monastiraki), but this place manages to be insulated from most of the street noise. The renovation work clearly paid attention to details like that – proper windows, decent insulation, all the unglamorous stuff that makes or breaks your sleep. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward hunting around for key pickup locations that some Athens apartments put you through. You’ll want to grab groceries at the AB Vassilopoulos nearby if you’re planning to use the kitchen – it’s about a 3-minute walk and way better stocked than those tiny corner shops. Fair warning though: summer gets intense here, like everywhere in central Athens, so that air conditioning becomes your best friend. The whole area gets pretty packed during peak season (July-August), but honestly, there’s something energizing about being right in the middle of it all when the city comes alive at night.

  Giodbspace interesting qyurky decor. Good bathrooms.
  
  What could be improved: No safe and very slow responses from contact. Couldnt find safe and 36 hours later reaponded saying there isnt one now.
  Wifi password was wrong and they eventually answered on the last day saying it was correct

  What could be improved: Incredibly noisy. Impossible to sleep even with earplugs. The place is on the ground floor with windows less than 3 meters from cars, trucks, buses , and motorcycles passing 24h/day on a 6-lane avenue, making it impossible to even open the windows (pollution and noise). Should have been warned by other reviews. TV never worked in spite of complaints. Internet not working on arrival.

  Apartament jest wygodny,przestronny.Jest w nim bardzo czysto oraz wyposażony jest we wszystko czego potrzeba .Lokalizacja jest w porządku,kilka minut spacerem od placu Syntagma.

  The apartment is decorated with a great taste and style and it has all facilities (including fast internet) you need for either short or long stay. It was very easy to find the apt and collect the property keys on arrival thanks to good instructions sent on time. The apt is relatively close to the Syntagma square and my wife and I specially enjoyed a nice walk throught the park in the morning. Panathenaic Stadium is just two minuted from the apartment while the Acropolis of Athens and some other acheological sites are easily reachable on foot. There are also some nice bakery and coffee/market shops near the apt. Overall, our stay in the the apt and Athens was excellent.
