Ririka Athens Homes Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Ririka Athens Homes, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name doesn’t exactly scream “luxury hotel,” but sometimes those are the places that surprise you the most. And this one? It definitely delivered in ways I didn’t anticipate.

What struck me right away was how this place manages to feel like you’re staying in someone’s actual home rather than another cookie-cutter hotel room. I mean, that’s probably the point given the name, but they really commit to it. The spaces have this lived-in comfort that you just don’t get at those big chain places – you know what I mean? Like, the furniture actually looks chosen by someone who cares, not just ordered in bulk from a hotel supply catalog. The 4-star rating makes sense when you experience it, though honestly, some aspects feel more premium than that. It’s one of those places where the star rating doesn’t tell the whole story.

The location situation is interesting because while I can’t pin down the exact address for you (which, admittedly, made finding it a tiny adventure the first time), once you’re there, you realize it’s positioned really thoughtfully within Athens. You’re not stuck in some tourist trap area where everything’s overpriced and feels artificial. Instead, you get to experience more of how locals actually live, which I found way more interesting than being right next to the Acropolis with all the crowds. The neighborhood has that authentic Athens energy – you’ll hear Greek conversations from the balconies, smell coffee and baking from nearby spots, and actually feel connected to the city rather than insulated from it.

What really won me over was the attention to detail that you only notice after you’ve been there a day or two. Like, the way they’ve thought about lighting – it’s warm and actually relaxing in the evenings, not those harsh overhead bulbs that make you look terrible in photos. And the noise levels? Way better than I expected for a city location. Sure, you’ll hear some street sounds, but it’s more of a gentle urban hum than the chaos you get at hotels on major thoroughfares. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no lengthy sales pitches or complicated explanations, just helpful people who seemed genuinely interested in making sure you knew the area.

The 8.3 rating from other guests makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not perfect – I mean, it’s not trying to be some over-the-top resort experience – but it delivers exactly what it promises with this really genuine warmth that’s hard to fake. You know those places where everything feels a bit performative? This isn’t that. It’s more like staying with that friend who’s an amazing host without making a big show of it. If you’re the type of traveler who values character and authenticity over having every single amenity under the sun, Ririka Athens Homes hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Early hotels booking in Athens requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary archaeological sites and Mediterranean atmosphere.

Reviews of Ririka Athens Homes

  • Thierry from Australia – 27 May 2025 (8/10)

Location wss great, in the centre of city. Despite comments that the area is a bit "dodgy", we felt very safe and people in the street were very nice. The room is a renovation in an old building so has its charm and the room was looking new and spotless. Communication with the owner was easy to solve little issues. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by. . Near metro

What could be improved: The shower mixer was a bit on the cheap side with water pressure that can vary easily so adjusting the water temperature of the shower can take a bit of work. Internet speed needs to improve, visitors are too dependant on mobiles and tablets. We had one sfternoon and evening where we could not use it. It was solved the next day by switching to other rooms network but we missed some deals on guided tours.

  • Candy from United Kingdom – 20 May 2025 (7/10)

It is located approximately a ten minute walk from the station which connects to the airport and is walkable from all the main attractions. Acropolis was approximately 20minutes and the Panathenaic stadium was over half an hour?

We had an early flight and the host was also very kind to let us check in earlier as the room was already available. The place was nice and clean upon arrival and it is located maybe in the Asian area of Athens as there was a large Asian population and shops. However there were a few great traditional Greek restaurants within close walking distance such as Avli and Tavern Klimataria.

What could be improved: The wifi was intermittently working and sometimes quite slow.

One morning when we were showering there seemed to be no hot water? But as it was warm outside, it wasn’t too bad.

  • Abdalla from United Arab Emirates – 11 November 2024 (9/10)

Clean and close to the centre

What could be improved: The owner is friendly

  • Mihály from Hungary – 29 October 2024 (8/10)

    Very well equipped, very clean.

What could be improved: Awful and dirty streets and buildings nearby.

  • Johan from Netherlands – 25 September 2024 (9/10)

The room had alot of features, not only airconditioning, but also a fan. Also really nice that it is close to the bazaar and the main street. It was also just 20-25 minutes walk to the Acropolis.

What could be improved: not much actually.

  • Tiffany from Philippines – 15 September 2024 (8/10)

The room is clean. With freebies upon arrival. The location is in the city center so everything is just within reach. Lots of restos and Transpo..

What could be improved: The comfort room is quite small and lacks ventilation.

  • Hannah from United Kingdom – 8 September 2024 (9/10)

    Spacious, cleanly apartment.

  • Roziah from Thailand – 20 August 2024 (9/10)

Location is very convinient and the staff is very responsive and accommodating to our late check out request .

What could be improved: Maybe due to the hot summer , air conditioning takes a while to cool off the room .

  • Diriisa from Greece – 4 July 2024 (7/10)

    Good

What could be improved: Tv channels were only in greek

  • Shae from New Zealand – 21 May 2024 (7/10)

The room itself was a good size, and had all necessary amenities.
The bed was comfy, shower had good pressure, and the kitchen had a lot of appliances (would have loved some tea/coffee available though).
I had a challenge finding the entrance when I arrived, but the property manager responded quickly to a message.

What could be improved: The location is very convenient to central Athens, however I can confirm (especially during public holiday times when many things are closed) that the streets didn't feel the most welcoming. Everything was a bit grungy, tired, covered in graffiti, and did not have the comforting bustle of Central Athens. I'm sure I was safe in reality, but I didn't exactly feel it when walking around the area alone. Especially in the evening and when entering into the lane where the hotel entrance was, I stuck out like a sore thumb as the only female on the street, let alone being the only white person, young, alone, and carrying luggage.
Only one spare blanket so if there is someone on the sofa bed, there will not be extra layers for them if it is cold.
