Sandra”s Acropolis View Penthouses Overview

You know what honestly surprised me about Sandra’s Acropolis View Penthouses? It’s not just another generic Athens hotel throwing around the word “view” – you actually get those jaw-dropping panoramas of the Acropolis that make you stop mid-conversation. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that promise views, but this is the real deal. The penthouses are perched perfectly to catch the ancient monument from multiple angles, and honestly, watching the Parthenon light up at sunset from your own terrace never gets old.

Sandra (yes, she’s a real person and you’ll probably meet her) has this knack for details that most places miss entirely. The apartments feel like someone actually lives there – well, because people do. There’s proper coffee equipment, not those sad little pod machines, and the kitchens are stocked with everything you’d need if you decide to hit the local markets. The furniture is comfortable without being fussy, and the Wi-Fi actually works from every corner, which let’s be honest, matters more than we’d like to admit. What really got me though was how quiet it stays despite being right in the heart of things – the soundproofing is surprisingly good, so you’re not dealing with Athens traffic noise at 6 AM.

The location is sort of genius when you think about it. You’re walking distance from Plaka without being stuck in the tourist chaos, and the neighborhood has that lived-in Athens feel where you’ll find locals grabbing coffee at the corner spots. I actually discovered some incredible family-run tavernas just by wandering around the block – the kind of places you’d never find if you stayed in the hotel district. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that lobby performance you get at chain hotels. Sandra’s team knows their stuff and they’ll point you toward the good bakery (trust me on this one) and tell you which metro entrance is fastest depending on where you’re heading. The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just really, really good at what it does.

Hotel in Athens booking should be done early, especially during summer festival season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural and theatrical performances.

Reviews of Sandra”s Acropolis View Penthouses

  • Philip from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

The property is located on the 6th floor (there is a basic lift) and the wow standout feature has to be the view of the floodlit Acropolis from the private balcony at night. It's truly magical.

The accommodation while compact is immaculate and very comfortable for two people and even though there’s busy restaurants below, the apartment is well soundproofed and has good air conditioning so you get a peaceful nights sleep. Plenty of bed linen, towels and toiletries provided. You will spend lots of time on the balcony.

The location is also excellent for sightseeing, being very close to the major attractions, countless restaurants, supermarkets and importantly, you feel very safe walking around the streets here. Its got a lively buzz and an Uber taxi is never more than five minutes away.

We would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

What could be improved: On arrival it felt a little unsettling, carpets being sold by the ground level front entrance, a few people hanging around, two locking metal entrance gates and a front door to the apartment that wouldn’t be out of place securing a bank vault, plus security cameras. It makes you slightly cautious at first but you get used to that and do feel very safe here.

The kitchen would also benefit from an oven or microwave, but space is limited and its really a minor detail.

What could be improved: Door lock to apartment was a little difficult.

Ohne of the best holidays we ever had. Perfect for a short stay. Appartment has ev you need and a fantastic view to the Acropolis. And the host put some thought into arranging the place with good energy. We will come back for sure.

  • Mariusz from Ireland – 16 April 2025 (10/10)

Excellent location to walk around the entire city centre and visit main attractions. Safe area and controlled access to the building. Super clean, well-maintained, well-equipped and tastefully furnished and decorated apartment. Glassware, tableware, cutlery and utensils. Great nespresso coffee machine. Huge balcony with adjustable awning, table, chairs and a sunbed. Mesmerising view of lit up Acropolis at evenings. New AC with heating mode. Spacious bathroom with great shower. Sufficient storage and hanging fittings. Adorable host! Thank you, Sandra!

What could be improved: No complaints whatsoever.

  • Luis from Australia – 30 January 2025 (10/10)

Location, overall quality of the room

What could be improved: The sound coming from the roof was a little bit annoying. It sounded like a exhaust fan going all the time.

The view, location and finish on the apartment were fantastic.

  • Alberto from Italy – 24 December 2024 (10/10)
