Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Athens, but Skyview Penthouse / Central Athens honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. When I first walked in, I was expecting just another decent 4-star spot – you know, clean sheets and maybe a nice view if you’re lucky. But this place actually lives up to that “penthouse” part of its name, and I mean that in ways that go beyond just being on a high floor.

The moment you step inside, there’s this sense of space that’s rare in central Athens – most hotels here feel cramped because, well, real estate is precious in the historic center. But somehow they’ve managed to create these airy rooms that don’t feel like you’re living in a shoebox. The windows are massive, and honestly, the views depend on which direction you’re facing, but even the “lesser” views in Athens are pretty spectacular when you’re up high enough. I spent way too much time just watching the city wake up with my morning coffee, which – small detail that matters – they actually provide good coffee, not that instant stuff you get in some places.

What really sold me on this place was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re in central Athens, so you expect some street noise, but the penthouse level really does buffer you from most of the chaos below. The neighborhood itself is one of those areas where you can walk to pretty much everything you want to see, but you’re not right on top of the tourist madness around Monastiraki (though that’s maybe a 10-minute walk if you want it). There’s this little bakery around the corner that the front desk guy mentioned – and you know what, locals actually go there, which is always a good sign.

The staff genuinely knows their stuff about the area, too. Not in that rehearsed way where they rattle off the same three recommendations, but more like they’ll ask what you’re into and then suggest that one museum that’s not in every guidebook, or tell you which taverna actually has locals eating there on Sunday nights. Check-in was smooth – no standing around waiting while they figure out their computer system, which honestly happens more than it should at places like this. The whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like they’ve figured out how to be professional without being stuffy about it.

The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Athens, but everything works the way it should, the location gives you that perfect balance of being central without being chaotic, and the penthouse setup really does make you feel like you’re experiencing the city from a different perspective. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re living in Athens rather than just visiting it, this place gets that balance right.

  First of all, really helpful guests! Thanks for all information and quick response time!
  The apartment is comfortable, clean, nicely decorated, with two terraces where you can spend the evenings in a pleasant way. In the kitchen, if it is needed, you can find almost everything that you need.
  The metro station Panormou is 5 minutes walking.
  There is also a supermarket.
  A nice place to spent some days in Athens!

  The location is perfect – with acces to most public transport and you can reach all locations downtown with in 10 minutes. The private parking space really made me sleep more secure.

  From the start, the hosts were easy to approach. When we arrived, we received the keys from a box and we were more than pleasantly surprised at the renovated state of the building and the apartment. We were most impressed by the views and the huge balconies – TWO huge balconies (terrace size almost). I have stayed in the area before and staying next to Leoforos Kifisias is USUALLY a nightmare because it is so noisy, but because of the apartment's location on top of the building and its good state, we barely heard a thing which was wonderful. The two-story apartment itself was very peaceful as well, no neighboring noises. This is an easy place to reach from the airport and in the duration of our stay, we benefited from the close by bus and metro stations. Also, the hosts were very helpful and always responded to our messages quickly and efficiently. They were very accommodating.
  The place was kept clean with new appliances everywhere, bathrooms and kitchen.
  Overall, we felt welcome and at home during our stay in this apartment. Thank you!

  We had a second day prepaid and the owners accepted to cancel the booking and get half of the amount back! Weird! Luckily booking gave the other half back! We managed to find a better apartment with a better location and to a lower price with great communication.

  Εξαιρετικά μπαλκόνια, πολύ καθαρό, κοντά σε σταθμό μετρό, κοντά στο κέντρο, σε γειτονιά όμως λίγο υποβαθμισμένη (προς έκπληξη μας). Αρκετά καλά εξοπλισμένο με είδη καθημερινότητας.
