You know what caught me off guard about Soho Athene Apartment? I walked in expecting just another decent place to crash in London, but this spot actually feels like someone’s stylish flat that they just happened to let you borrow for a few days. The 4-star rating is honestly underselling it – with a 9.6 guest rating, you can tell people are genuinely surprised by what they find here.

The apartment setup is perfect if you’re the type who gets claustrophobic in tiny hotel rooms or just wants to feel a bit more… I don’t know, settled? The kitchen actually works (shocking, I know), and there’s proper counter space where you can spread out your morning coffee and pastries from that little bakery down the street. I mean, you’re in Soho, so you’ll probably end up eating out most of the time anyway, but it’s nice having the option. The living area has this lived-in elegance – not Instagram-perfect, but comfortable in a way that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay in for the evening with a bottle of wine.

What really sells me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re properly in Soho, not on some random side street that claims to be “near Soho” – there’s a difference, trust me. The energy outside is exactly what you want: buzzy during the day with that mix of tourists and locals, but it doesn’t get stupidly loud at night (well, not unbearably so). Walking to Covent Garden takes maybe ten minutes, and you’re close enough to Oxford Street for shopping without being in the middle of that chaos. The nearest tube stop is an easy walk, though honestly, I found myself walking everywhere because the location just works. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward waiting around in a cramped lobby situation. It’s more like meeting someone who hands you the keys and shows you around quickly, then lets you get on with your life. The place feels secure without being overly fussy about it, and the Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner of the apartment, which is rarer than it should be these days.

  It is a spacious renovated modern apartment. The bed is indeed exceptional as promised. Fully equipped kitchen with a nice living room area. The door gives an added sense of security although it is located in a nice area where people walk all the time. It was definitely worth the money.

  Such a beautiful fully appointed apartment. So comfortable for us and close enough for us to walk to the Acropolis, Monastiraki and Plaka. There was everything you would need for a long stay.

  The style of this property is really cool! I love the attention to detail Anna has put in to the furnishings while keeping the homey vibe. We loved the lounge area and really appreciated the functional air conditioning. we didn’t cook any meals but the kitchen is fully equipped and the cupboards have all the oils vinegars and spices you can think of. the bed was comfortable and the bathroom looks great with stone walls, nice pressure on the shower and the Morrocon shower gels we’re such a treat!

  Smart cosmopolitan style with luxurious bed and a perfect little balcony to enjoy breakfast. Remarkably quiet location but within just a few minutes walk of bars and restaurants. Round the corner and 2 minutes walk takes you to a long wide street with fantastic views of the Acropolis. Or head up the street and uphill to explore the open spaces of the parks dotted with ancient ruins. A perfect apartment to explore the thrilling city, with a quiet nights sleep.

  Very friendly and helpful hosts who responded swiftly to any queries. The location is excellent – it was amazing to go to all the sites only a short walk away and there are so many nice cafes and restaurants nearby.

  Anna is a great host! The apartment is really centrally located and has very cool places to eat and shop. The Acropolis is barely 20 mins walking. I didn't have too much time to explore other parts of Athens because unfortunately the weather was bad on one day, but the cosy apartment compensated amply for the rainy day! Definitely recommended.

  It is almost 40 years since I visited the area and never stayed in an apartment. It was beautifully equipped and full instructions for entry were given by Anna who was really helpful. I knew she would answer any questions or concerns of needed. I was impressed with the lighting, comfort and the clever storage facilities. My favourite place was the balcony in the morning, people watching with a coffee.
  
  Despite the number of buildings around it was very peaceful, residents had made little oases on their balconies. In one direction there are a number of grocery shops, in another on a pedestrianised tramway, specialist shops, cafes and a bar close by.
  
  The walkways around the Acropolis were accessible via a number of routes as was the centre of the city and numerous attractions. An easy going and very pleasant environment. The Metro runs from stations a few minutes away, but I preferred to walk and take in the sights. Highly recommended !
