The 8.8 rating it’s got feels about right – it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works the way it should, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the air conditioning actually cools the place down.

What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood vibe. You’re close enough to walk to Plaka and Monastiraki when you want that postcard Athens experience, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of tourist groups and street vendors at all hours. There’s this great little bakery around the corner – I can’t remember the exact name, but the owner always had fresh spanakopita ready by 8 AM – and a handful of tavernas where you’ll actually see locals eating, not just other travelers taking Instagram photos. The metro connections are solid too, which matters more than you might think when your feet are killing you after a day of sightseeing. I mean, Athens is walkable, but it’s also hilly and hot, so having easy access to public transport without having to trek across half the city first is clutch. The whole area feels lived-in rather than preserved in tourist amber, if that makes sense.

  Everything was clean and nicely maintained. Extended family was very comfortable in the apartment. Bedrooms were large and the beds very comfortable. Bathrooms had plenty of hot water, towels and good lighting.
