I’ll be honest – when I first saw the listing for Spacious Suite w. huge balcony + Acropolis view, I thought it might be one of those places where “huge balcony” means you can fit two plastic chairs if you’re lucky. But stepping out onto that terrace for the first time? Yeah, it actually delivers on the promise. The balcony wraps around a good portion of the suite, and you know what really got me – it’s not just that you can see the Acropolis, it’s that you get this incredible perspective where the ancient columns seem to float above the city’s rooftops, especially when the evening light hits just right around 7 PM.

The suite itself feels properly spacious (I mean, you could probably fit a small family in the living area without everyone getting on each other’s nerves), and honestly, the 4-star rating feels about right – it’s got that comfortable, lived-in quality without trying too hard to be fancy. The kitchen area is actually functional, which I appreciated since eating out in this part of Athens every single meal can get expensive fast. What surprised me was how quiet it stays despite being in the city – I was expecting traffic noise to be an issue, but the way the building sits, you’re sort of tucked away from the main street chaos. The air conditioning works well too, which trust me, matters a lot during those sweltering July afternoons when the temperature creeps past 35°C.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to most of the major sites without feeling like you’re right in the thick of the tourist madness. There’s a little bakery about two blocks down that opens ridiculously early – around 6 AM – and their spanakopita is honestly better than what you’ll find near the main squares. The nearest metro station is maybe a 10-minute walk, which makes day trips pretty straightforward. I did notice that weekends can get a bit livelier in the surrounding streets (there’s a popular taverna nearby that tends to spill onto the sidewalk), but it’s the good kind of energy, not the keep-you-awake-all-night kind. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s one of those places that gets the important stuff right without any major surprises, good or bad. If you’re looking for that perfect Instagram shot of the Acropolis with your morning coffee, well, you’ve basically found your spot.

Hotel in Athens booking should be done early, especially during summer festival season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural and theatrical performances.

  The flat was extremely close to Monstaraki Square and Station and a 20 minute walk from the Accropolis south entrance and 9 minutes from the Ancient Agora. The view from the roof terrace was stunning and it was nice to sit out on our own terrace. It was easy to find with clear instructions and pictures of where to find things the ToStay company were easy to contact and quick to respond. Air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living room/kitchen diner.
  The flat is on the fourth floor and the lift up is small. It fits 2 people and a suitcase – no more.
  
  What could be improved: Although extremely clean the bathrooms were very small – but this is a minor point they are perfectly usuable. There were clear instructions on how to get the hot water working but when you switched the shower on the pipes made a very loud noise.

  Brilliant place to stay in Athens, we walked everywhere as it is close to all the main sites. 15 mins to Acopolis entrance, 20 minutes to Acropolis Museum. Lovely and clean. Staff brilliant, especially Elvis, who gave us great tips on where to go and organised taxi to and from the airport (€52 euro paid by card). Would highly recommend the apartment. We stayed in Mneme, which had 2 bedrooms, a private balcony, and access to the roof terrace was opposite the front door. Supermarket 2 mins away, the Kook 5 mins away, honestly it really was a great base to explore Athens. Allow plenty of time to get to the airport as traffic can be very heavy. But 100% recommend the apartments.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing not to like. Had a great stay for 4 nights. If i was going to be picky, a full-length mirror would be a good addition!
