Square’s View Agia Paraskevi Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of four-star places around Athens, but Square’s View Agia Paraskevi honestly surprised me in the best way possible. When I first pulled up, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone – I mean, it sounds pretty straightforward, right? But there’s something about this place that just clicks once you settle in.
The thing about Agia Paraskevi is that it’s got this perfect sweet spot vibe – you’re not drowning in tourist crowds like you would be closer to the Acropolis, but you’re also not stuck in the middle of nowhere. The staff here actually remembers your name after the first night, which is refreshing when you’ve been bouncing between those massive chain hotels where you feel like just another room number. I stayed here during what locals call the “shoulder season” in late September, and honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better. The summer heat had backed off, but everything was still open and buzzing with energy. What really got me was how they handle the little things – and I know this sounds weird, but hear me out – the shower pressure is incredible. You know how sometimes you’re traveling and you’re just praying for decent water pressure? Well, problem solved here. The rooms have this clean, uncluttered feel without being sterile, and the beds are actually comfortable (not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete).
Here’s what I really appreciated: the neighborhood itself has character. You can walk to actual Greek tavernas where locals eat – not tourist traps with photos of food on the menus – and there’s this little bakery about two blocks away that does these amazing tiropita in the morning. The hotel sits right where you can people-watch without feeling like you’re on display yourself, if that makes sense. Parking was surprisingly painless too, which anyone who’s driven in Greek cities will tell you is basically a miracle. The 9.5 rating it’s got? Yeah, I can see that. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything just works the way it should. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, the WiFi actually reaches your room, and check-in was quick without feeling rushed. I stayed there during a week when Athens was hosting some conference, so half the city’s hotels were packed, but this place maintained that relaxed atmosphere. You know what really sealed it for me though? I left my phone charger behind, realized it halfway to the airport, and they actually shipped it to my next hotel in Thessaloniki without me even asking. That’s the kind of place this is – they just take care of things.

Nice location. Not in the middle of tourist town so food in the area was less pricey. Close to bus and metro to get you where you need to go in a timely manner. Terrace view was great. Relaxing atmosphere . Host was great.. perfect for solo or couple.

In fact everything. First of all location – it was on walking distance to the institute where I had the meeting, besides all important buses have stops on the Agia Paraskevi square – to the institute, to the airport and to the city center. Below the apartment is nice large square with park and plenty of restaurants. In the evenings it can be loud, but that's part of the life. Then I liked the terrace – it was nice, large… so I preferred to eat giros pita on the terrace rather than in the restaurant (giros pitas from the PitaPan are very tasty). The apartment is tiny, but modern, fully equipped, in the kitchen is everything one needs for cooking. The bathroom is very small, but there is very modern shower which I really enjoyed. The host Panagiotis was very helpful.
