Strefi Hill Suites Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Strefi Hill Suites? It’s one of those places that looks good in photos, but somehow manages to be even better when you actually walk through the door. I mean, Athens has no shortage of boutique hotels trying to capture that whole “modern meets classic” vibe, but this place actually pulls it off without feeling forced.
The suites themselves are spacious in a way that’s genuinely surprising for Athens – and I’m talking about real space, not just clever furniture arrangement. The design walks this nice line between contemporary and warm, with these touches that feel intentional rather than picked from a catalog. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the heart of things. The soundproofing is clearly something they invested in, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag or just need to decompress after wandering around the Acropolis all day. The staff has this relaxed professionalism that feels very Greek – they’re genuinely helpful without hovering, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give you recommendations that aren’t just the obvious tourist spots.
Here’s the thing about the location that really works – you’re positioned where you can easily walk to the major sites, but you’re also in a part of the city where actual Athenians live and work. There are these little tavernas within a few blocks that locals frequent, and you’ll find yourself stumbling onto streets that have that authentic Athens energy without the cruise ship crowds. The area gets this lovely evening buzz when people are heading out for dinner, but it settles down nicely at night. I’ve stayed in parts of Athens where the street noise goes until 3 AM, so this was a welcome change. The building itself has character – it’s clearly been thoughtfully renovated rather than just gutted and rebuilt, which gives it some personality that a lot of newer places lack. Check-in was smooth, and they actually seemed prepared for guests rather than surprised by them, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case. The whole experience just felt considered, from the quality of the linens to the way the common areas are maintained. It’s the kind of place where you can tell someone’s paying attention to the details that actually matter to travelers, not just the Instagram-worthy shots.

I loved the central and lively area of Exarchia. The apartment was on the 1st floor and there is also a nice terrace where people can enjoy the sunset on the city centre. liked the fresh and clean towels and bedsheets and the big, spacious living room!
Marianna from Greece (9/10)
Lovely flat in a vibrant area surrounded with cute cafes, restaurants and little shops. The hostess was very kind and available, eager to support me when needed. Exceptionally clean and welcoming space, very comfortable and well thought out. Amenities were as described which made the stay very cosy. Great location with easy access to public transport, supermarkets and pharmacies nearby. I had a great stay overall!

The whole check in experience was nice and easy. I started getting messages on my WhatsApp from the property a day before, so that was helpful. 12 mins walk to the Archaeological museum where you can take the hop on, hop off bus and explore the city.

Everything was perfect! All facilities for a comfortable stay were available: washing machine with dryer, dishwasher, WiFi, climate control, terrace with a picturesque view, etc. The location is also ideal, close to city sights, shops, restaurants—everything we needed.

We had a good stay here. We arrived very late at night. The staff had given really detailed instructions including videos of how to access the building and our apartment which was really appreciated. Our apartment was large and well set up. We were out sight seeing all day so didn't use the apartment much. It had tons of hot water and we appreciated the washing machine! We enjoyed walking up Lycabettus Hill which is nearby. There are tons of great bars and restaurants all around the apartment too.

The apartment itself is very nice but unfortunately the street next to it is extremely noise. We had hard time sleeping there. When motorcycles goes by it vibrates the whole window. So earplugs are a must in this apartment. But again the apartment is very nice and good location.
