Townhouse in the Historical Centrer of Athens Overview

You know what really surprised me about Townhouse in the Historical Centrer of Athens? It actually feels like staying in someone’s beautifully restored family home rather than a typical hotel – and I mean that in the best possible way. When I first walked up to the building, I was struck by how it just blends seamlessly into the neighborhood fabric, no flashy signage or tourist-trap vibes. The entrance is understated, almost like you’re being let in on a local secret.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Athens like someone who actually lives here. You’re literally surrounded by the kind of narrow cobblestone streets where old-timers still hang their laundry from wrought-iron balconies and corner tavernas smell like garlic and oregano from morning till night. I could walk to the Acropolis in about ten minutes (though let’s be real, it’s uphill and those ancient marble steps get slippery when it’s been raining). What I loved most was stumbling onto Adrianou Street for my morning coffee – there’s this tiny place called Funky Gourmet nearby where locals actually go, not just tourists with guidebooks. The Plaka district is right there too, but you’re tucked away enough that you don’t get the constant stream of tour groups marching past your window at 7 AM.

Inside, the rooms have this wonderful mix of restored original details and modern comfort that actually works – I’m talking exposed stone walls that don’t feel like a theme park, and bathrooms where the shower pressure doesn’t make you want to cry. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, which is rarer than you’d think. When I asked about finding good souvlaki (not the tourist stuff), they pointed me toward a place on Mitropoleos that I never would have found otherwise. Honestly, the 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything just works the way it should. The WiFi is solid (important for those inevitable “look where I am” video calls), the air conditioning actually cools the room, and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t spend half the night adjusting pillows. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re discovering Athens rather than just checking it off a list, this place gets it right.

Reviews of Townhouse in the Historical Centrer of Athens

  • Tatiana from China (10/10)

Our stay at the resort was absolutely amazing! Tatiana is more than just a host—she's marvelous. Always available and ready to answer any questions, she provided us with all the tips we needed for a comfortable stay. The apartment had everything we could ask for: it was super cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. The curtains in the bedroom were perfect, ensuring complete darkness for a good night's sleep, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable.

There are plenty of fantastic places nearby to enjoy a fancy dinner or grab some snacks. Tatiana went above and beyond by sharing links, maps, and recommendations for everything—from bars and cafes to pharmacies, restaurants, and bakeries with delicious local food. It was our first time in Athens, and it couldn’t have been better.

Even on our last day, when we left the apartment to visit another island Tatiana had suggested, she promptly sent over more recommendations and links for places to visit! Tatiana, you truly deserve a gold star as a host. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!

Very clean and bright appartment. Also well arranged and thought out.

  • Priya from United Kingdom (8/10)

We knew the location, so we knew where to get breakfast. The only downside was there was not enough tea and coffee in the containers in the apartment. There were two tea bags

The location is excellent. The apartment is spacious and has all of the amenities anyone could ask for.

  • Luigi from United Arab Emirates (9/10)

Very nice property with an attentive host.
The apartment is very close to the main attractions and many streets with restaurants and cafes. It’s amazing that you can walk to the center and, yet, the apartment is on a quiet street.
The bedroom is bright and spacious and very clean. We loved having breakfast in the beautiful balcony. We would definitely stay again if back to Athens.

  • Katia from Canada (10/10)

The location was great. Many nice restaurants and cafes close by. Calm area but walking distance from main attractions. Easy to access. Perfectly clean. Ease to communicate with Tatiana who was super helpful to us. The authenticity of the appartement with the room upstairs and the balcony. We greatly appreciated that we could store our luggages. The washing machine and all the commodities were wonderful! Highly recommended!

Location was great! AC worked well once it had time to kick in, and I appreciated that there was coffee and tea. Host provided helpful grocery and bakery recommendations. Cot was provided for daughter which was very helpful. Would most certainly stay again.

    Wonderful

  • Emanuela from United States of America (9/10)

Excellent location: walking distance to the pedestrian area around the Acropolis and to many cafes and restaurants with amazing views, but in a super quiet area with no noise of cars, discos or parties. Hot water in the shower is really hot and consistent, and you don’t have to worry about the boiler! The owner was very nice and available throughout our stay.
