1930’s neoclassical apt in the heart of Athens Overview
Walking into 1930’s neoclassical apt in the heart of Athens, I was honestly struck by how they’ve managed to preserve that pre-war elegance without making it feel like a museum piece. The building itself – you can tell it has stories, with those beautiful high ceilings and original moldings that somehow survived decades of Athens’ urban chaos. I mean, finding a place that actually honors its 1930s roots while still having decent wifi and modern plumbing? That’s rarer than you’d think in this city.
The location is what really sold me on this place, though. You’re genuinely in the thick of things – I could hear the gentle hum of Athenian life from my window, but it wasn’t the kind of street noise that keeps you up at night. More like the comforting soundtrack of a neighborhood that’s actually lived in, you know? Within a five-minute walk, I stumbled across this tiny taverna that clearly only locals knew about (the kind where the menu is scrawled on a chalkboard and nobody speaks English, but the moussaka is transcendent). And honestly, being able to walk to the central archaeological sites without dealing with tourist bus routes – well, that’s worth its weight in ancient drachmas.
What impressed me most was how they’ve handled the details. The furniture feels carefully chosen rather than just ordered from some hotel catalog, and there’s this wonderful sense that someone who actually understands Athens put thought into every corner. The bathroom has this gorgeous vintage tile work that I’m pretty sure is original, and the kitchen – small but perfectly functional – actually has decent cookware if you want to grab ingredients from the nearby markets. I will say the building’s entrance is a bit tricky to find at first (Greek street numbering can be… creative), but once you know where to look, it becomes part of the charm. The 9.2 rating really makes sense when you stay here – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything just works in that effortless way that only comes from genuine attention to detail. For anyone who wants to experience Athens like you actually live here rather than just passing through, this place gets it right.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Athens through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s ancient heritage and modern attractions.

We have been traveling with our group to various places in Europe on and off for a good 35 years. This accommodation beats all others, it was the best accommodation so far. Great location, great cleanliness and facilities. We were able to communicate directly with the landlord and everything worked out 200 percent, many thanks to Christo for that! 👌👍🕺🎸🚀
Amanda from United Kingdom (8/10)
It was much larger than the photos appeared to show. It was not in the centre of Athens.
Angela from United Kingdom (9/10)
Very cosy apartment. Three of us stayed here and there was a lot of space. Three nice beds and bedrooms. Lovely dining and living room. Balcony is also great.
Anthony from Australia (9/10)
Lovely old family apartment, still with old family books, pictures, photos etc. Very large, clean and comfortable. Probably not great value for money but very nice. Near the National Art Gallery which is well worth visiting.
Anne from United Kingdom (9/10)
The apartment is superbly located just down the road from the metro (red line) and bus stops. Incredibly spacious, comfortable and clean. The managers (Dropebnb) were efficient and swift to answer any questions.

Emine from Turkey (10/10)
1930 lardan gelen bir evde kalmak şahaneydi. Evin lokasyonunda koşan cam heykeli görebiliyorduk her sabah, ev her yere Akropolis dahil yürüme mesafesiydi, içinde kendi evimizde kendi atalarımızın evindeymiş gibi hissettik.

Totalmente recomendable
