Apartment in Fancy Athenian Neighbourhood Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartment in Fancy Athenian Neighbourhood” listed as the actual name, I almost rolled my eyes. But you know what? After staying there, the name actually makes perfect sense in that charmingly straightforward way Greeks have about things.
This place sits right in one of those tree-lined residential areas where you’ll hear more Greek than English on the streets (which, let’s face it, is exactly what you want). The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish aunt decided to rent out her place – there’s real personality here, not that sterile hotel vibe you get everywhere else. The 4-star rating isn’t about marble lobbies or doormen, it’s about the details that actually matter: proper water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that work, and a kitchen stocked well enough that you can make real coffee in the morning instead of that instant stuff. I mean, the coffee situation alone probably bumps up that 9.4 rating.
What really won me over was the neighborhood feel – you’re close enough to the tourist spots that you won’t spend half your day on public transport, but far enough out that you’ll discover those little tavernas where the owner’s grandmother is still making the dolmades. There’s this bakery maybe two blocks away where locals line up every morning, and honestly, following that bread smell became my favorite way to start the day. The streets are quieter at night too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep off all that wine from dinner. Parking can be… well, it’s Athens, so manage your expectations, but the area isn’t as crazy as the city center. The check-in was surprisingly smooth – none of that awkward key-handoff-at-a-random-café situation I’ve dealt with at other apartments. The place stays cool even in summer (thank god for those thick old walls), and there’s enough space that you won’t feel like you’re living in a shoebox. I actually found myself wanting to stay in some evenings, which rarely happens when I travel. It’s got that lived-in comfort that makes you feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.
Hotels in Athens offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this ancient metropolis, with easy access to world-class museums, archaeological sites, and bustling markets.

The apartment is excellent, large, spacious and very comfortable. The best central location in the town. The host is amazing, helps with everything.

Location, amazing host, who warned us for possible riots and bad weather.

The apartment is situated in a really beautiful area. Only minutes walk from the main shopping areas and the Syntagma metro station. The metro runs directly from the Airport to Syntagma and takes approximately 40 minutes. The apartment itself is very spacious and the air conditioning is great. It's also possible to walk to the Plaka area and the Acropolis site. The walk took us 25-30 minutes. Lots to see and do along the way. The host was brilliant and kept us updated all the way along up until our arrival. He also gave us some great tips for restaurants close by. I would highly recommend this apartment as a great base to explore the city.

Location was in a quiet and safe neigborhood, with a lot of light and very close to anywhere. We only walked, didn't take a taxi even once with 2 kids (10 & 13), supermarket 2 minutes away and some groceries in the fridge that the host left for us.
The host was very communicative, but not imposing, always ready to answer about anything, including recommendations.
It is not the newest apartment, but it is renovated and clean.Tracy from Australia (9/10)

Lydia from United Kingdom (10/10)
Great location, about 20 mins walk from all the main sites but in a quite and safe neighbourhood. I think it would be hard to be in a nice place closer to the centre.
Checkin instructions were really clear.
The apartment was really spacious. The living room/kitchen was a lovely space overlooking the street while the 2 larger bedrooms backed onto the courtyard at the back.
A bathroom plus extra toilet which is great with a group of 4 or 5.
The host was lovely and recommended an excellent brunch place. She also left us, water, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and pastries which meant we were all set for breakfast. Really appreciated.Antonio from Spain (9/10)
Everything was perfect. I had contacted with the host (Kostas) before our arrival by Whatsapp. He explained how to enter into the aparment in a very clear way. And more importantly, I asked him several recommendations (for example, restaurants with views to the Acropolis) and he answered very quickly and with very good tips. So, fantastic host. The apartment was also ok, with everything a family could need, even Kostas left some bakery for breakfast and, especially, cold water in the fridge. The location is absolutely perfect, really close to the centre and in a very safe, beautiful and calm part of the city.
