But honestly, this place completely caught me off guard in the best possible way. When you’re driving along the coast south of Athens, you’ll spot it perched right where the road curves toward the water, and there’s this moment where you realize you’re not dealing with your typical Greek tourist trap.

The thing that gets me about this 4-star spot is how it manages to feel both polished and genuinely relaxed at the same time. The suites – and they actually are proper suites, not just hotel rooms with a fancy name – have these massive windows that frame the Saronic Gulf like living postcards. I spent way too much time just sitting there with my morning coffee, watching the fishing boats head out before dawn (if you’re a light sleeper, you might hear them, but honestly, it’s kind of charming). The interiors strike this perfect balance between modern comfort and subtle Greek touches – think clean lines but with those beautiful blue accents that don’t feel forced or touristy. Check-in was surprisingly smooth too, which anyone who’s traveled in Greece during summer knows isn’t always a given.

What really sold me on the place, though, was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. When I asked about dinner recommendations, the guy at the front desk didn’t just hand me a generic list – he told me about this little taverna about ten minutes down the coast where the owner’s family has been grilling octopus the same way for three generations. That’s the kind of local insight you can’t fake. The location itself is pretty brilliant too – you’re close enough to Athens that you can easily do day trips to the Acropolis or Plaka (maybe 45 minutes depending on traffic), but far enough out that you actually feel like you’re on vacation by the sea. Parking isn’t an issue, which is honestly a relief if you’ve ever tried to navigate central Athens with a rental car. The 9.5 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there – it’s one of those places that just gets the details right without trying too hard to impress you. The kind of spot where you find yourself already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

  What could be improved: the staff told me the day after i had requested a late check out weeks in advance that this suddenly could no longer be accommodated and then shower was blocked and flooded the entire apartment so couldn’t be used
