The space feels lived-in rather than sterile (which I actually prefer), and you get the sense that locals have put thought into making it work for travelers. What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night – Kallithea has this perfect balance where you’re close enough to central Athens to hop on the metro or grab a taxi, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the chaos of Plaka or Monastiraki until 3 AM. The 7.9 rating seems about right, honestly – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on the basics and then some.

You know what I really appreciated? The little details that show someone actually thinks about what travelers need. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen (try finding that in most Athens accommodations), and the shower has decent water pressure – which, trust me, after walking around Athens in summer heat, you’ll be grateful for. The neighborhood itself is brilliant for getting a feel for how Athenians actually live. There’s this bakery about two blocks away that does these incredible cheese pies in the morning, and you’ll find yourself walking past the same café owners who start recognizing you after a couple days. It’s that kind of place where you can practice your terrible Greek and people will smile instead of immediately switching to English. The metro connection is solid too – you’re not stuck out in the suburbs, but you’re also not paying tourist-trap prices for everything. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel less like a tourist and more like I was just… living in Athens for a week.

  SPACIOUS AMAZING HOME AND GIVING THE FEELING OF NOSTALGIA AND OLD TIMES. MOST SATTISFIED WITH THE VIEW FROM THE ROOM WITH A LARGE WINDOW BY THE BED, AND LOOKING OUTSIDE TO THE TREES. VERY CLEAN KITCHEN AND BATHROOM THAT IT DOES NOT DEPICTED BY THE PHOTOS AND THE SENSE OF OLD IS BY FAR NOSTALGIC AND NOT CONTRADICTORY TO THE SENSE OF CLEANNESS AND TIDYNESS. VERY CLOSE TO STORES, LARGE SUPERMARKET AND PASTRY SHOPS THAT MAKE THE LIVING EASY WITH THEIR READY TO GO MEALS.

  it was not what we thought. we thought it was two double beds not a sofa. my poor mum could not sleep as it was very uncomfortable

  We were a group of 5, and we felt comfortable in the apartment. It looks as a middle-class Athenian apartment from the 1970's, and we liked that. Marble kitchen sink… There is also a place to sit and have coffee in the courtyard, which was absolutely great during the hot summer evenings. We also liked the location – easy to reach other city areas, but outside of the main tourist crowd (also outside of the run-down areas where most of the lower-cost places seem to be located). Very simple was to get the keys at the spot.
  Finally, the host was very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed the stay in this apartment.
