Coral Hotel Athens Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Coral Hotel Athens, you immediately notice how the lobby feels both polished and relaxed — it’s that sweet spot where a four-star property doesn’t try too hard to impress you. The staff genuinely seems happy to see you, which honestly makes all the difference after a long flight. What struck me most was how many guests were clearly returning visitors, chatting with the front desk like old friends. That’s usually a good sign, you know?
Location & Neighborhood
The hotel sits right on Possidonos Avenue in Paleo Faliron, and I mean right on it — you’re basically steps from the waterfront promenade. Athens beach life isn’t something most tourists think about, but this stretch along the Saronic Gulf is where locals actually come to unwind. You can walk to the marina in about five minutes, and there’s this whole network of cafes and tavernas that tourists rarely discover. The tram connection into central Athens is super easy too, though honestly, you might find yourself wanting to stay in this quieter part of the city longer than expected.
The Room Experience
My room faced the sea, and I have to say, waking up to that view never got old during my stay. The space felt thoughtfully designed rather than just functional — good lighting for actually reading, a desk that’s not an afterthought, and a bathroom where you don’t bump into everything. The air conditioning works properly (trust me, this matters in Athens summers), and the soundproofing is solid enough that you won’t hear every conversation in the hallway. Small details, but they add up when you’re trying to decompress.
Dining & Breakfast
The breakfast here actually deserves the praise it gets — and I’m usually pretty skeptical about hotel food. They’ve got this buffet setup that covers all the bases: proper Greek yogurt with local honey, fresh pastries, and enough variety that vegetarians and people with dietary restrictions won’t feel left out. The restaurant staff pays attention to keeping things fresh rather than just letting food sit under heat lamps. I ended up eating there for dinner once too, and the seafood was legitimately good — not just “good for a hotel.”
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is how it balances being close to Athens without feeling like you’re stuck in the tourist chaos. The parking situation is handled well (which anyone who’s driven in Athens will appreciate), and the whole vibe feels more like a seaside retreat than a city hotel. Couples seem to particularly love it here — probably because you get that romantic waterfront setting while still being able to explore the city easily. It’s the kind of place where you might extend your stay by a night just because leaving feels premature.
Athens’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of ancient heritage and modern comfort, with many featuring archaeological tour services and authentic Greek hospitality.

The hotel is beyond praise. It is that rare case when the hotel staff tries to make your vacation perfect. The hotel makes you want to come back again. The breakfast is excellent with a beautiful view of the sea. The room is very clean, new bed linen, nice bath towels. The service on the beach at the hotel is also excellent: free water, safe, nice beach towels. We had the best and most memorable experience during our stay. There are many fine restaurants, cafes and supermarkets close to the hotel. It takes 15 minutes by cab to the center of Athens.

We were there in the last October week and liked many things about the Coral hotel. A few specials: Apples in a large basket in the lobby. Double doors in the room for extra noise protection. Swimming in the calm and clear sea across the road at 27 degrees while air temperature was 24. Spacious breakfast room on 7th floor with sea views. 5* continental breakfast. Impeccable services throughout the hotel. Airport bus X96 stops next to hotel and journey takes about one hour. We didn’t need a taxi and used public transport to go everywhere- bus B2 and tram T6. Bank, pharmacy, good restaurants and super market are all next door. Private beach in front of hotel offers free towels, sun beds, water bottles and umbrellas. Plenty of good quality toiletries in the bath room. We will certainly return!
