Cubes Living Athens Goudi Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Cubes Living Athens Goudi, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The Goudi area isn’t exactly where most tourists end up, but that’s actually what makes this place kind of brilliant. It’s tucked away in this residential neighborhood that feels authentically Athenian, where you’ll hear actual Greek conversations on the street corners and smell someone’s grandmother cooking dinner from the balconies above.
The hotel itself has this modern, almost minimalist vibe that somehow doesn’t feel cold – I mean, the name “Cubes” had me worried about some sterile box situation, but it’s actually quite warm inside. The rooms are smartly designed (you know how some boutique places sacrifice comfort for style? Not here), and honestly, the 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed there. What really got me was how quiet it is at night – even though you’re still very much in the city, Goudi has this residential calm that lets you actually sleep. The staff seem genuinely happy to be there, which… well, you notice these things when you travel a lot.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before my first visit: you’re about a 15-minute metro ride from the city center, but that’s actually a good thing. You get to see how regular Athenians live, grab coffee at neighborhood spots where the barista remembers your order, and avoid the tourist markup on everything. There’s this little bakery just down the street that does these incredible spanakopita – the kind of discovery you’d never make staying in Plaka. The hotel’s location near the metro means you can still hit all the major sites during the day, but you come home to a neighborhood where kids are playing football in the small parks and locals are having those long Greek dinners that stretch into the night. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Athens, not just visiting it – and for a 4-star property with service that punches well above its weight class, it’s honestly become my go-to recommendation for people who want something different from the usual Acropolis-adjacent hotels.

Reviews of Cubes Living Athens Goudi

The studio was spacious and included all the facilities I needed. Towels, shampoo and cleaning products were enough.
What could be improved: It was a bit noisy in the night due to road traffic.Yildiz from Turkey – 29 May 2025 (8/10)
We stayed at a studio, it was small but very clean. İt has a big balcony with chairs, my smoker friend was very pleased about it 🙂 we couldn't make thre thermostat work during our stay, but the weather was good and so didn't care. The person I spoke about it after was very sorry and I'm sure they'd have taken care of it if I'd have told them earlier. They were always very kind and helpful whenever I needed to ask for anything.
The place is not the most central place, but ıt's very safe and comfortable, best for the price range in Athens. Just 3-4 stops metro or 7-8 Euro worth taxi drive.
And the ramen place close by is perfect for a night craving 🙂
What could be improved: It'd be so good to have a coffee pod for each day of the stay.Maorigurl13 from New Zealand – 26 May 2025 (10/10)
Loved the room size, it was beautiful and clean, close to lots of shops, food and laundromats, absolutely loved the security of the building, tho the area itself felt very safe

The building felt very secure, and as a solo traveller, this made it feel very safe in a busy area. The room had everything needed for a simple stay, with options for cooking my own food if I pleased. The balcony felt like a simple luxury, that kept the warmth of the day really well.

Location is great for me with easy connection to main roads to get around by car to the airport and office. There is a great gym two blocks away. Also central Athens is a short drive. And the quality of the accommodation is great. It’s also a quiet street with low level of street noise.
What could be improved: The new water heating mechanism – remembering to have to turn it on in advance before having a shower every time. I forgot to half of the time and then it’s the stress of being late while waiting for the water to heat. Not a fan.Georgia from Germany – 12 February 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: Street noise

Very clean
All inside like new
Location is greatCassama from Finland – 5 January 2025 (10/10)
The room is very comfortable, just like the description given, super clean, 10 minutes walk from the subway and with plenty of public transport options around.
The area is quite safe.
What could be improved: It's a country with a lot of car traffic, so you can hear the noise of cars at night. Maybe they could opt for double windows, that would solve the problem.Michalis from Cyprus – 2 January 2025 (10/10)
Good location, easy access, clean and tidy.

The apartment is nice and comfortable. Check in was easy the codes were provided as advised. Thank you Chris for maintaining contact throughout my stay and for the recommendations of places to visit. The balcony was a nice added feature to the apartment, no great views of landscapes but still nice to have!
Whilst I noted some reviews commented on the hot water operation it was easy enough and heated up very quickly, just press the button in the box and it will do the rest! I particularly liked the location of the apartment a 10-15 minute walk to the local station (Ambelokopi)which connected to all the main places in central Athens at very good fares fyi a four or five day pass cost 8 euros and 20 cents. I also took the train to the airport for 9 euros.
In summary the apartment is value for Euros! So I go ahead and book a stay! 😁
