Heart Of Athens Apartments Overview
You know what struck me first about Heart Of Athens Apartments? It’s how they managed to nail that sweet spot between feeling like a proper hotel and actually living in the city for a bit. I mean, when you’re pulling a 9.3 rating, you’re clearly doing something right – and honestly, after staying there, I get it.
The apartments themselves feel genuinely lived-in rather than sterile (in the best way possible). You’ll find little touches that matter when you’re settling in for more than just a night or two – proper coffee makers that actually work, decent-sized fridges, and thank god, blackout curtains that know how to do their job. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show either; I actually found myself cooking breakfast a few mornings because everything you need is within a five-minute walk. There’s this great little produce market just around the corner where the vendors will absolutely insist on giving you extra olives if you attempt even the most broken Greek – it’s charming, really.
What really sets this place apart though is how it sits in the city. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble where every restaurant has English menus and inflated prices. Instead, you’re dropped right into actual Athens neighborhood life. I’d wake up to the sound of scooters and coffee shop chatter drifting through the windows (the good kind of city noise, not the awful honking variety), and you can walk to most of the major sites without feeling like you need to plan an expedition. The Acropolis is obviously the big draw, but honestly some of my favorite moments were just wandering the smaller streets nearby and stumbling into tiny tavernas that locals actually frequent. The staff clearly knows the area – they gave me directions to places I never would have found otherwise, including this incredible bakery that opens at 6 AM and sells out of their honey pastries by 9.
The four-star rating feels about right; it’s polished without being fussy, and the service hits that perfect balance of helpful without hovering. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and when the air conditioning got a bit wonky one afternoon (this was during a particularly brutal heat wave in July), they had someone up to fix it within the hour. Small thing, but it matters when you’re melting. I will say the elevator is one of those charmingly tiny European ones, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, maybe pack a bit lighter or embrace the arm workout. The Wi-Fi actually works properly throughout the building too – I know that sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places still can’t figure that out.

Small comfortable apartment with all facilities (even a washing machine). Not a great view, but very quiet. And the host is very kind and helpful. He stored our luggage and even provided a welcome drink. Great!

Dana from United States of America (10/10)
For our first visit to Greece, we loved the wonderment of all the things from staying in this apartment! It had a great hot tub with an amazing view of the Acropolis! All of the places to see were so convenient. The apartment was well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. The host was very responsive to our needs and questions. He was also very understanding when we were running a little bit late on our last day. We would recommend this place to stay in the city center area. We would stay here again!
