And the metro connections are actually fantastic from here; you can be in Syntagma Square in maybe fifteen minutes, but when you come back in the evening, you’re returning to somewhere that feels authentically Greek rather than like a theme park. There’s this little taverna around the corner (the staff will point you toward it) where I had some of the best grilled octopus of my entire trip – the kind of place you’d never find if you were staying in Plaka. The morning walks to grab fresh bread and Greek coffee became this unexpected ritual I actually looked forward to. Sure, it’s not a five-star luxury experience, but honestly? The 8.0 rating feels about right – it’s solid, comfortable, and gives you that insider’s view of the city that most hotels can’t deliver.
