There’s this amazing little taverna about two blocks away where the owner, Dimitris, makes what I’m convinced is the best moussaka in the city – and trust me, I’ve tried my fair share. The hotel staff actually recommended it to me, which tells you something about how connected they are to the neighborhood.

What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve nailed that balance between comfort and character. The rooms have this understated elegance – clean lines, quality linens, but nothing that screams “trying too hard.” I stayed there during a particularly warm September, and the air conditioning actually worked (not always a given in Athens, honestly).
