Polis Grand Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about Polis Grand Hotel? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its name – there’s something genuinely grand about walking into the lobby, but not in that stuffy, intimidating way some four-star hotels can have. I mean, the marble floors and chandeliers are impressive, sure, but the staff immediately made me feel like I belonged there, which honestly isn’t always the case at nicer properties.
The rooms are what I’d call “properly spacious” – and I say that as someone who’s stayed in way too many cramped European hotel rooms where you can barely open your suitcase. Here, you can actually spread out a bit, and the beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m talking about that sweet spot where it’s firm enough for your back but still feels luxurious). The bathrooms deserve a mention too – they’ve got this modern marble thing going on, and the water pressure is fantastic, which you don’t realize you miss until you don’t have it. One small thing though: the air conditioning can be a bit noisy at night, so if you’re a light sleeper like me, you might want to pack earplugs.
What really sets this place apart is how the staff treats you – they remember your name after the first day, and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations, not just pushing the touristy spots everyone knows about. The concierge pointed me toward this incredible local restaurant that I never would have found otherwise. The hotel restaurant itself is actually pretty solid too, which is rare – usually hotel dining is either overpriced and mediocre or trying way too hard to be fancy. Here, it’s just good food without the pretense. And honestly, having a proper breakfast included (none of that continental nonsense – I’m talking eggs cooked to order, local cheeses, fresh pastries) made my mornings so much easier. The whole place has this relaxed but polished vibe that made me want to hang out in the lobby with a coffee and just watch the world go by, you know? With an 8.3 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I totally get why people keep coming back.

good location. Very friendly and herlpful staff. We had a short stay, arriving very late and leaving after breakfast.
Great breakfast and very friendly. They advised us that the buffet was closing soon and allowed us pick more items as we were late leaving. Too often, other hotels just start clearing up with 10 minutes to go.Anonymous from Netherlands (8/10)
Location, very close to car parking. Though not so close to Acropolis but it's within walking distance. In general the hotel seems to be in a safe neighborhood, especially compared to some other places we accidentally walked by… It's close to the National Archaeological Museum, but too bad the museum is closed on Tuesday morning!!
The roof top restaurant is super nice!
Staff are friendly.Latrese from United States of America (9/10)
