Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Athens, but Relax Apartment Under Acropolis actually lives up to its name – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that hits you, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re basically in the heart of one of the world’s busiest archaeological zones.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to capture that perfect balance between being close enough to everything that matters while still feeling like a proper retreat. I mean, you can literally see the Acropolis from the windows (hence the name, obviously), but you’re not dealing with the chaos of tour groups stomping around at 6 AM. The apartment itself feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile – there’s actual character in the furnishings, and you know what? The kitchen is one of those rare rental kitchens where you can actually cook a decent meal if you want to skip the tavernas for a night. The bathroom has excellent water pressure too, which… well, anyone who’s traveled around Greece knows that’s not always a given.

The location is where this place really shines, though. You’re tucked into this quieter residential pocket, but it’s maybe a ten-minute walk to Plaka if you want to wander through the tourist maze, and the Acropolis Museum is close enough that you could pop over multiple times without planning your whole day around it. I actually ended up going back to the museum twice because it was so easy from here – something I never would have done from a hotel further out. The neighborhood has this authentic Athenian vibe where you’ll hear Greek conversations from the balconies in the evening, and there’s a little kafeneio around the corner where the old men play backgammon (you’ll know it when you see it). Parking can be tricky if you’re driving – this is Athens, after all – but honestly, you won’t need a car from here anyway. The metro connections are solid, and most of what you came to see is walkable. Just pack comfortable shoes because those ancient marble streets are beautiful but not exactly forgiving on your feet.

  Very responsive host. Lots of good information provided. Close to a metro station, restaurants, bars. Very quiet. Easy to sleep. Host provided many things like coffee, bread and cereal.

  The apartment is very comfy and well equipped even for longer stays.
  The location is ideal if you wish to be close the the Acropolis and the old town where most of the attractions are.

  Everything was excellent, Hector was very kind, gentle and professional, he gave us some tips and suggestions very useful. The appartement was really clean and tidy and also equipped with basics as coffee, sugar, cereals, butter, marmelade and bread. Very well located within minutes to supermarket and restaurants.

  The location was in a quiet neighborhood yet near the center. Grocery a block away, lots of restaurants nearby, and hector was very helpful. He even had free breakfast food for us ☺️ Smooth checkin

  The host is just amazing and was super helpful as he awaited for us in the lobby of the building to take us to the apartment, give us a full tour of must and nice to know.
  He also went the extra mile and arranged for us prints we needed to get on hand prior our next step in our vacation and did print and drop them off to us prior our departure.
  We had all necessity stuff there for our convenience, from toiletetie to breakfast so settling in nicely in the apartment could just be so easy !
  He shared several adresses, tips and tricks and recommendations.
  Would definitely stay there with them again!
  
  What could be improved: Everything was great for the duration of the trip we did as a family of 4.
