Riggilis Apartment

First Impressions

Walking up to Riggilis Apartment, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This four-star property sits on a quiet residential street in one of Athens’ most coveted neighborhoods, and honestly, the building itself has this understated elegance that feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a typical hotel. The entrance is discreet — you might even walk past it if you’re not paying attention — but that’s part of what makes it feel so authentically Athenian.

The Kolonaki Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location: you’re right in the heart of Kolonaki, which means you can walk to some of the city’s best cafes, boutiques, and galleries without dealing with tourist crowds. The nearby Lycabettus Hill is perfect for morning walks (trust me, the sunrise views are worth the early alarm), and you’re actually close enough to hear the city waking up but far enough from the main drags that you’ll sleep soundly. Couples seem to absolutely adore this spot — and I get why, because there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of this sophisticated neighborhood.

The Apartment Experience

What sets Riggilis Apartment apart is exactly what the name suggests — you’re not getting a standard hotel room, you’re getting an actual apartment experience. The spaces feel lived-in and comfortable, with kitchenettes that are actually functional (not just for show) and living areas where you can spread out your maps and plan the next day’s adventures. The decor strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and Greek character — you know, the kind of place where you might find yourself making coffee in the morning and thinking, “I could actually live here.”

Neighborhood Life

One thing that really struck me about staying here is how quickly you start feeling like a local. There’s this excellent bakery just around the corner where the owner will remember your order by day three, and the small supermarket nearby stocks everything you need for impromptu picnics in the National Gardens. The metro station is close enough to reach the Acropolis or Plaka easily, but you’re also in walking distance of the Benaki Museum and some seriously good restaurants that don’t appear in every guidebook. It’s that sweet spot where you feel connected to real Athenian life.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.0 rating really makes sense once you’ve spent a few nights here. People consistently rave about the location (and that 9.9 score from couples tells you everything), but it’s more than just geography — it’s the whole experience of feeling settled rather than just passing through. The apartment-style setup means you can have breakfast on your own schedule, store leftovers from that amazing dinner you discovered, and generally live at your own pace. Plus, the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you know the neighborhood’s secrets, not just the obvious tourist spots.
