St George Lycabettus Lifestyle Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into St George Lycabettus Lifestyle Hotel, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical five-star property. The lobby has this sophisticated yet relaxed energy that feels distinctly Athenian — think modern elegance without the stuffiness. I mean, the staff actually remembers your name after day one, which honestly surprised me. There’s something about the way they’ve designed this place that makes you feel like you’re staying at a well-connected friend’s incredibly stylish home rather than just another luxury hotel.
Location & Neighborhood
The location on Kleomenous Street is absolutely brilliant, and I get why couples rate it so highly. You’re in Kolonaki, which is Athens‘ most upscale neighborhood — think tree-lined streets, designer boutiques, and some of the city’s best cafes just steps away. What’s really clever is that you’re close enough to walk to Syntagma Square and the main sights, but far enough up the hill to escape the tourist crowds. The hotel sits right at the base of Lycabettus Hill, so you can actually walk up for sunset views without dealing with the cable car queues that most visitors endure.
The Room Experience
My room had this perfect balance of contemporary design and Greek touches — marble details that felt authentic, not overdone. The beds are seriously comfortable, and you know what really impressed me? The soundproofing. Even though you’re in the heart of the city, nights are surprisingly quiet. The bathrooms are spacious with rainfall showers, and they’ve thought through the little things like proper lighting for getting ready and enough outlets where you actually need them.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast situation here is genuinely impressive — they’ve got this buffet setup that covers everything from traditional Greek options to American classics, plus they’re really good about vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices. The rooftop restaurant and bar area is where this place really shines though. The Acropolis views are stunning, especially during golden hour, and the cocktails are crafted by people who clearly know what they’re doing. There’s also a spa that’s intimate and well-designed, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. The fact that they have private parking is honestly a game-changer if you’re planning any day trips outside Athens.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most is how many people return here — the staff mentioned they have way more repeat guests than most hotels, and after staying here, I totally understand why. It’s that rare combination of luxury service without the pretension, plus a location that lets you experience Athens like a local rather than just another tourist. The attention to detail is consistent throughout your stay, from the way they handle restaurant reservations to their genuine recommendations for off-the-beaten-path spots. You’re paying for a premium experience, but it actually delivers on that promise in ways that feel authentic rather than manufactured.

Véronique from Switzerland (9/10)
Property has a good location however quiet uphills. So you need to have good shoes to go down to the city as it can be slippery. The view is amazing being from the room or from the roof top/terrasse. The rooms are nice but not perfect and the eye for detail is missing. This makes a big difference.
