The streets around here have this authentic Athenian vibe, with little kafeneia where old guys actually play backgammon (not for show), and you’ll hear more Greek than English walking around. I loved stepping out in the morning to grab coffee from the corner spot – the owner started recognizing me by day three, which never happens in the more touristy areas. The apartment itself has that solid, lived-in quality that makes you want to actually cook a meal instead of eating out every night. The kitchen‘s properly equipped too, not just for show with those tiny European appliances that don’t actually work.
