Nine Athens Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Nine Athens Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from the understated entrance, but this place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. The lobby has this sophisticated, almost residential feel that immediately makes you forget you’re in a hotel. You know what struck me first? The attention to detail in the design – I mean, everything from the lighting to the way they’ve arranged the seating areas feels intentional without being stuffy.
What really sets this place apart (and I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star hotels in Athens) is how they’ve managed to create this intimate atmosphere while still delivering on all the practical stuff you actually need. The rooms are genuinely well-thought-out – not just Instagram-pretty, but actually functional for travelers. The beds are seriously comfortable, and the bathrooms have proper water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss even in nicer Athens hotels. I also appreciated the blackout curtains because, let’s face it, Greek summers mean early sunrises and you’ll want to sleep in after exploring the city until late.
The staff here actually knows their stuff about the neighborhood, which is refreshing. They’re not just reciting tourist brochures – they’ll tell you which tavernas the locals frequent and when to visit certain sites to avoid the crowds. Speaking of location, you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the touristy areas and the more authentic parts of the city without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble. I found myself walking to places I wanted to go rather than dealing with taxis or metro transfers, which saved both time and money. The area gets pretty quiet at night too, so you’re not dealing with street noise keeping you awake. With a 9.6 rating, this hotel is clearly doing something right – and after spending several nights there, I can see why guests keep coming back. It’s one of those places that feels special without trying too hard, if that makes sense.

Great location, balcony looking out on the square, elegant room. We were there only one night, sadly, and we had to get up early to catch our flight. When our taxi came
at 3:30 am, the night clerk handed us 2 bags—breakfast for each of us! Wish we’d had more time, it was a lovely spot.Nils from Sweden (9/10)

An exceptional boutique hotel that is superbly located in the historical district of Athens . The hotel appointments are exquisite with spacious and fantastically comfortable rooms with all amenities provided. The breakfast setting whether outdoors or inside is perfectly lovely and the food is outstanding with several well prepared choices . Added to this is the absolutely wonderful staff and you have the perfect hotel in Athens. Would not stay anywhere else when we return to Athens .

Small and personal, only 9 rooms, but excellent service staff were attentive and helpful, the hotel room rate included breakfast was amazing (from a menu not the standard buffet you usually get in Greek hotels), and the location was perfect. Right next to the Plaka and a short walk to the metro.

The rooms were newly renovated and in a great location for site seeing. An excellent breakfast was included in fee. The rooms were quiet for sleeping.
